Hello wagon lovers. I have always had an attraction for wagons and found one for sale near me. All that I have are a couple of pictures and no info on asking price. I believe the car has a SBC crate motor. It was being restored but now will be sold as is including the parts to complete the car. I hope I can buy the car so I can hang out with you guys! If any of you could give me your idea on a fair price I would really appreciate it. I've checked out the "Car Value Sites" but I was hoping to get some REALISTIC numbers from real wagon guys. I loaded some pictures to the gallery but I can't figure out how to get them here.
Thank you for the advice on scarcity of parts. From what I understand the car is complete. The parts that are not currently on the car are included.
That looks like a great start..........you would be way ahead of the game. A great 2 door wagon. As said previously, parts are probably a little tougher to find, because of it being a one-year only.........but they are out there. A friend sold a 58 sedan delivery a few years ago, and had extra parts. We loaded them in a trailer and headed to a swap meet. We got there, boought a space, and never got it unloaded before two guys came up and made an offer for everything 58. We didn't have much else, looked like the end of the swap meet, not the start..........I had a pair of good 1 piece front and rear bumpers that I hauled to swap meets for a couple of years, but finally sold them to someone from Michigan rebuilding a convertible. I guess it could be said that parts for one year only can be tough to find...........and sell.
That's a darned nice looking wagon, at least in the pictures. If it is as nice under and mechanically all that you need is a fair price and you really are way ahead of the game. Some people buy wagons and cars in need of much work and spend more time and money than what they ever get in return for enjoyment.
Like to help, but.......... Need a bit more information..... - Is the engine installed and running? - Is anything missing? - Is there any rust?* - Is the electrical system installed and complete? *Has there been any rust removal / repair, like rockers or floors replaced? Just based on what I'm seeing in the pics, I would say in the $5-6,000 range. FYI, there's this one in Stoneville, and the seller is asking $21,500 - which I think is ridiculous. http://winstonsalem.craigslist.org/cto/4536739662.html Good luck! Marshall
I've noticed lately something has been missing with many new members. Click here new members----> The Welcome Wagon When anyone comes wandering into my garage asking questions or wanting to sell things I'd like to know a little about them.
I was told that the wagon went through an 8 year restoration and is 90% restored including a new engine (don't know what size). I'll have to install the bumpers, door glass and vent windows, door panels and antenna.
This is a cool, unique wagon, you won't see to many of these at the shows, or anywhere...love it! Hope it all comes together for you and you don't need that wagon to hang out here. to SWF.
If the body is rust free including the spare tire well and floors which are prone to rust, and if it runs and can be moved on its own, I'd guess 6 to 9 range. There is still a lot of work to do to complete it even as far as it is now. I've seen a few in the past while in that price bracket, running, appear clean, stated as rust free, funning/driving but needing mostly cosmetic interior-exterior attention. These are neat wagons, not many appear on the road now, and certainly attention getters.
aboard! I've always wanted a '58 Yeoman 2-dr wagon. I think they're very unique, being a one year only body style...and a 2-dr...I love it! One of my favorite Chevy body styles. Frankly, I like any '58 model...even the sedan delivery. Looks like most of the hard work is done. It's like a large model kit...requires assembly. Good luck! Hope you can buy it right.
