I thought there might be negative comments about why I didn't spend the money on Fannie. Believe me I had ALOT of mixed feelings about buying it. I was talking it over with my daughter, saying that I could buy a few good things for Fannie and she in all her wisdom said, "yes it would buy a few things but not an entire car."

The link is to the Garage, it's saying that the id is missing???

Fannie you have a smart daughter. And you are not the first member who bought another car before the project was finished. I can think of a few of them just lately. What were they thinking?
    I'd never..... Oh, I have!:slap:
But now you can go to car shows, cruise-ins, and nice drives.:yahoo:

I've seen this wagon in a driveway for a few years now. They seemed to use it all year round, a DD. Anyway a couple of weeks ago a For Sale sign went up on it. So when I was going by again today I decided to stop in, daughter and Mom were with me.
I started to peek in the windows when I noticed the owner in the yard working on a tracker. He told me a bit about it, started it up and started showing me through the car. He came down on the price and I said I had to call hubby. We agreed to come back later in the afternoon, hubby looked it over as best he could. He backed it up and moved it ahead, tried all the windows, lights, etc, everything seemed to work, so I offered a bit lower and he took it, and now Fannie has a little sister.

I would NEVER go out and buy another completely nice turn key wagon before I completed my wagon project! :hide:
Congrats Fannie, it's nice to just be able to get in one and cruise! :thumbs2:

Very nice wagon Fannie. :thumbs2: You deserve it. Gives you some breathing room on Fannie proper, and it is only money.

    More pics would be nice.

I've always liked these wagons - just something about their size and shape appeals to me. A few times I've seen nice ones for sale and thought maybe I should consider tucking one away for "futures" but just have too many vehicles already in stock to be doing that.

One reason why I like FWD cars, let alone wagons, is the legroom (I'm 6'6"), and I've always been impressed with the GM A-body and the Taurus/Sable. She's a good-looking car.

Those are GREAT wagons! They're put together very well, and the ride and handling are above standard for the day. Fairly decent gas mileage, too. They're really under-appreciated. And that one you bought is beautiful! Now you get to enjoy driving a classic station wagon instead of .............waiting. Good for you, Jenn.

Congratulations, what year is she? That would have been the model I would have loved to replace my beloved 1995 Cutlass Ciera SL sedan I lost in 2006, but I bought my brother's 2000 Nissan Xterra SE instead. I bet I would have had fewer repairs on the wagon! I'm too glad for you to be angry or jealous. Fannie's day is coming, she's not out in the cold.

Great wagon, there, Jenn. Nothing wrong with having a nice parts getter in the driveway, after all. These are not bad cars in the least. As Krash said, well put together, and they do seem to be very reliable. What engine is in her, and how many kilometers? With these, that can make a big difference. If it is a 2.8, over 200,000 km is good news. If a 1st gen 3.1, the over 120,000 is great news. It means you are out of the danger zone for the block cracking. If a 2nd gen 3.1, it doesn't matter much, as they are great. Have fun with her. Nice to see a real wagon in your driveway, even if it isn't the wonderful FANNIE!

Thanks guys for all the encouragement...I think I'm just having buyers remorse and a bit of guilt towards Fannie. Actually I was just up talking to the body guy last Wednesday and he has me back on track as to what I need to do next. I know Fannie's body is going to be a huge expense and it is going to take a while to get her completed. I do like this little wagon but Fannie has that special place in my driveway. When I called hubby to ask him about buying Lil Sis, he's first question was what about Fannie? I told she isn't going anywhere! Can't we just have four cars?

Any way Lil Sis is in great shape as far as we can tell, I'm sure we will come across some issues as we go along. We have discovered there is a gas leak coming from somewhere...we could smell it when we got home. And when I went to take her around the block, I put her into "R" and there was a hard bump...I thought the transmission is falling out! Hubby thinks it's a broken motor mount...really took the shine off fast...:( However, he's saying it's not a big deal not to worry...I'm thinking sh*t I've just added to his todo list...:( It never did this in the guys driveway...damn it!

    So here are the particulars...

    1989 Olds Customer Curiser SL
    153000 KMs
    6 cyclinder 3.3(3300) automatic
PS, PB, PW, P-seats, A/C, third seat in the back. Blue interior(like that) she looks as good in person as she does in the pics...

Doesn't show but she seats nice and level, even my negative son admitted that.

There is a slight bow in the visor, right in the middle and the badges (two of them) have fallen off but they're in the back.

Sorry for the shadows, it was getting late in the day by the time the neighbours left and I gave her a quick wash. But the interior is in get shape. Althou the headliner has a bunch of staples in it...

I asked Buddy if there was the third seat...he didn't know how to fold it back down cause in the four years that he owned it he never had it open...;)
He purchased the car from a retired lawyer in Halifax who kept her in a heated garage all winter...:p

She has 153000+ kms...not bad for 25 years of service so far. ;)

power seats...never had that before. :dancing:

could use a shampoo but otherwise it's "Mint" according to #1s GF...always liked that girl!

This car has more buttons then our 2012 Sonic...it also has a cassette player...:yippee:

And the heart of the matter. She really needs an oil chance and will probably get new plugs and filter too. Her Inspection just ran out so I'm thinking I'll take her down to the local garage here in town for a pre check to find out what else she needs before we go to far. As mentioned, there is that motor mount and the leaky gas... that was most disappointing! Other then maybe a new set of tires, I have no plans to do anything else but drive her. This will give our 4X4 Colorado the summer off and we'll store Lil Sis in the winter.
