Finally got all the fuel lines replaced on the 55 Chevy and a new standard fuel pump instead of Chinese electric pump. After always having white lettered tires on the 55 Chey wagon since we bought it in 1988 I got 215/70/15 Firestone narrow white walls put on. Went several sizes smaller mostly because I still haven't gotten power steering. Worried they wouldn't look good with Cragers but so far seem okay. Actually they are still BLUE WALLS. Camera batteries are dead so no photos.

HA HA---Using copy and paste to get a "v". Amazing how often we use the "v" key.

grind and paint the big top

Hot here in florida so why not spend it grinding and cleaning the long stude top in the sun...ha. Just a little at a time. Then worry about the rain. Last time I had the whole thing sandblasted and the guy was supposed to prime it. Well he didn't and by the time I got home....you got it. Rain and a mess again. When I had a shop it was easy. Now the shop is my man's cave..50's retro. Oh well. As the fun continues I am hoping the weather holds so I can get this basic body work done. Hot hot hot.

My home made welded chain shifter broke from stress cracks. I reworked my back up. A 3/8ths bolt welded to an old piece of garage door track with two holes drilled into it. Shifts OK, but not as cool as chain...

Finished the powerful vent window installation on my Custom Cruiser. Now it's a Custom Custom Cruiser.:) I have a few sets of the side nameplate lettering, thinking about adding another Custom in front of Custom Cruiser on the doors.;)
The height of laziness but it's a long walk to the back of the car.
Now to figure out how to open and close the tailgate and rear window remotely? I've heard of trunk monkeys, I wonder if you can get trained way-back seat monkeys to do that???:rofl2:

Changed the lower rad hose last night, and I still have a leak! It does not appear that the water pump is weeping, and I can not find an obvious leak point! So, Saturday's fun is tracing the leak down and seeing WTF is up!

    Cool mod, BV!

Did you follow the write up on ISSF or the LR Forum? And how did you incorporate the switch into that lower dash panel - looks factory?

Patrick: I would bet your leak is either the heater hose or the bypass hose. Heater hoses on the 302 tend to leak almost right at the end of the nipple on the water pump, and it looks like the pump until you get the hoses off. Many people forget the by-pass hose completely, and it gets old and leaks. It is available prebent, but you will have to trim it to length.

Thanks, I will definitely check that! As that is likely the original bit, I can imagine it giving it up now.

New Moog CC623 Coil Spring on Roadmaster

I've heard a lot of roadmaster owners rave about putting the moog coil springs on, so I decided to do mine. Ordered from Amazon (56.99 free shipping) and got them put on yesterday.

I see why people like 'em. Raised the back end and seems to have improved the ride. I went down an exceptionally bumpy road I travel a lot today, and it seemed a bit smoother than before. Wasn't really expecting this. I was looking for a little more height and less sag with weight. Definitely got that. Now I can polish the back wheels completely without moving the car. Papa likes!

Wonder what the stance was supposed to be when new from factory? I like it this way.

Looks like my stance is pretty close to factory. Thanks for the pic.

Funny thing about the pic- no roof rack! Was that an option? I don't think I've ever seen a 94 RMW without a rack.

    It's called the trim height.
The numbers are in your factory service manual's steering, suspension, tires and wheels diagnosis section section along with the correct way to measure it.
