Oh well! Maybe dealer will wise up and decide to just part it out and KK can nab those Rally II's he's been wanting??

Yeah, and I'll also take the engine, the interior door panels, the seats, the instrument panel, and whatever else I can grab, all for 100 bucks - ?

    oh man

Not a bad wagon, not bad at all. Not sure how much more than what was bid, that they want for this. I would not have bid it so high.

That sux for the guy who paid $8800. He is gonna loose a lot of money. Ebay fees and titling and shipping if needed. Plus the time it takes to list the car is lost.

That said there is a lot of this going around. Everyone think that everything from crappy Saginaw 4 speeds to decent wagons are upper echelon parts and cars and are looking for a premium.

    That is good and bad...:banghead3:

Yeah, the dealer will either take a loss or have to mothball this one and hope for better sometime in the future. :deadhorse:

The current auction is bid to $6600 with 4 days to go. It's looking like it will not quite make it to $7k, just like last time.

Agreed. This dealer was lucky to break even. Hopefully, this spectacular Grand Safari with the gorgeous interior will go to a real wagon fan and not a flipper! :bouncy:

Looking at the bidding history of the last three bidders I wouldn't be completely shocked to see this relisted by the same seller relatively soon.

Guess what's back? Another dealer trying to flip it. Now it's in New York. The Buy It Now is a ridiculous $15,500.

This Pontiac deserves a good home where it's actually wanted and not just to someone trying to make a buck. I'd love to have it but I'd never pay that sort of money for it. That's money that only mint and loaded clamshells are bringing at this point.

OK, so what's this wagon got that mine doesn't?

    - The Valencia cloth interior (admittedly, very nice)
    - A 403 V8 (Sure, I'd like it)
    - A power antenna (whoopee)
    - 53,000 more miles
    - A price $11,000 more than what I paid........

I could probably change over the interior to the Valencia cloth (assuming I could find the material) for $1,500 or so......
I could probably install a big motor for under $3,000.......

I'm with you, JWD. Too many speculators have had their hand on this one.

Agreed, Krash. I for one will not knuckle under to extortion (and that's what it is really is) to pay an exorbitant amount for a rare wagon just because some unscrupulous and short-term-minded dealer snatched it up (yet again). :( (As much as I like this Pontiac.)

for that price they should at the very least relace the left rear broken tail light bezel

Seriously... I am not sure that this is even worth $8800.00 Most of the option can be reproduced as Krash has pointed out.

PLUS this is a 35 year old car that is NOT a rare collectible. This is the kinda thing that makes people thing all Ford Mavericks are worth more than $500.00.
    Just sayin..
