A 4 barrel carb on a slant six? Wow. Sounds interesting.

My wife said pretty. Then locked the door and hid my credit card. :slap: I know a neat little bar down there I could visit.

Slant Six? Might have been nice to have a pic of the installation.

    I wish I had kept my '56Plymouth 2-dr wagon.

This has to be a later conversion, as the 225 slant 6 did not exist in 55. Back then, it was the L head inline 6. I have heard of the 4 bbl conversion done to the 225, and it does move very nicely indeed. Still prefer a nice 8 in anything, especially a car as heavy as this one can be when laden. Sounds much nicer, too. A slant 6 will always SOUND like a slant 6 no matter what you do.

This is not a terribly heavy car. You are looking at 3,400# dressed out. If that flathead Six could propel it down the turnpike at 70 mph, the 225 is certainly more than capable of doing the same, even when loaded. I've owned enough of them to know.

The 225 came out in the 1960 model year, which was also the first year for an alternator in a US-built car.

Too many people have the illusion that SIX is a dirty word. I didn't say SEX.
For torque, fuel economy, and ease of access to work on it, nothing wrong with a six of any brand. With a little detail, paint, and chrome, they can look sexy too!:)

Once, spent most of a day replacing the starter motor on the bottom of my Aspenwagon's 318. A friend bragged, on his 64 1/2 Mustang with a Six in it, all he had to do to replace the starter motor was; open the hood and lean in.

Rear wheel drive Fords have easy starter motors to change. I did the one on my 89 Grand Marquis 351 in half an hour, outside, in a snow storm. 2 bolts, one electrical connection and I was done. I didn't even jack the car up.

I've replaced starter motors on Ford's too. Usually not a problem. Although, on my Mom's 74 LTD Brougham(where difficulties were many and not far between)the snafu was one of the bolts holding it in just wasn't coming out. The last person to put in that bolt had cross threaded it. The problem with the Dodge was that it wasn't just the starter that needed to be removed. The starter was inside a metal tube shroud. To protect it from road debris, etc., I'm sure. The first problem with that idea was; a blob of tar had gotten stuck in the tube/on the front of the starter, and melted into the starter. Necessitating the repair. Second, I thought I was going to be able to get the starter out, without removing the shroud, but was mistaken about that. And one of the bolts for the shroud was not easily accessible. Other than that, the Dodge was actually a good car. Better than our Plymouth Reliant, but only cuz K-Cars were on a quality level with older VW Bugs.

I agree, my OHC-6 powered 69 Firebird has embarrassed many a 5.0 Mustang at a stoplight! And with headers and true duels it sound nice to!!!

I do like the looks of this car, just wish they would have posted som pic's of the engine conversion.
