Greetings from the snowy north 1974 Impala w/ factory 454

Just wandered on this site and looks pretty informative. For those of you who are intreseted in Impala's I'll give you the skinny on mine. I have been restoring this beast for about 2 years now and it's comming along good (still missing one side marker). I sent away for the build sheets from Chevrolete and they state that only 43 of these babys came with the 454 and only 3 had the vinyl top which mine has both. I believe this makes it a pretty rare car, especially since these have been sought out for years as Demolition fodder.

The little old lady i bought it from made me promise it wouldn't have that fate

Forgot to mention

I turned the 454 into a 489 Stroker and got a 15 sec quarter mile this fall....Pretty respecable for a 5000lb + car. I plan on replacing the heads with aluminum this winter and taking it to my buddys dyno shop and tuning it up(curve ignition and such). Also i put in a monster stereo (lottsa room you know) and I air bagged the back with onboard compressor and plan to do the front this winter depending on cash flow.

These pics were taken at the Strathmore Harleys and Hotrods Childrens wish foundation party Which i am the MC for. Sure would like it if we could put together a "Wagon Train" for this event next summer We have really good bands, a poker run for bikes and cars, live auction,Burnout contest and much more. We raised $30,000 last year for the kids.

BTW I host a helluva wet t-shirt contest too....lol (yes, some of those girls were in it too.) Sorry can't post those pics due to the fact they are not for all ages.

I just noticed there's a real nice station wagon in the pic too!

I won my best car show trophies when my wife wore her short shorts and halter tops with high heel sandals, I still wonder if the judges even looked at my car?:banana:

Best part is at one of those I won best of show and she won over 500 dollars in the 50/50 raffle, people probably thought the fix was in.
