    I detest tranny leaks. Something I battle with all the time. Big gusher is my '49. I need to pull the TH350 transmission. The fluid is coming out of the kick-down tube. Seems I don't have the correct seal in there.. what a pain. Messy stuff to clean up. Blah! :90:

    I did a couple of small things, added a Paradise Cheverlete License Plate frame (to Keep the Tiki Theme Going) and also added a GM Class 3 trailer hitch cover. Andd had the Head Liner and sun visor's redone.

    Tedy,

    The head liner was actually done by a local Auto aphostery shop over the last couple of weeks. I actually traded Labor with him, I pulled and installed V-8 in His AMC Marlin last summer, and he pulled redid and installed the headliner, turned out great, and it just cost me materials, and a weekend of wrench turning!

    He even guarantees it for 2 years!!!!!

    And as for the Snow on the bumper, that was just 3 weeks ago, we had a winter much like BC this year, 6 inches of snow in the morning, gone by noon when it hit 50F. It was actually snowing most of the day yesturday, thankfully nothing stayed on the graound as it was just above freezing!

    Well I now have anouther adition to post soon, I was yarding last week on my day off and found a 83 Caprice Wagon that had the same tan interior color as my almost no option 78 Impala. And I grabbed the Carpeted rear cargo Side Panels, tailgate Panel, and the rubber carpet retaining strips for the carpeted cargo floor (the carpet was trash unfortunatly) Only issue is the storage door is bent as someone pried on it to see what was in there as it was locked. So now I will have to sap out the panels, and get some carpet cut so the Greyhounds stop doing 2 cushion shots off the sides when I go around corners to fast!!!!! The MRS will be happier about that!

    Wiper system: I am NOT happy with this aftermarket "cable" type system at all. Not for this application anyway. So I may end up devising my own custom system from bits and pieces I can scrounge at the wrecking yard... ya know.. Frankenstein it. We shall see.

    Son ordered and installed one of those new cable wiper systems in my 55 Chevy wagon. He hates it too. I have another brand yet to install in the 48 Chevy panel truck. Really don't think much of them. Especially if I lived where they have snow and ice. I can't see those flimsy cables working well. So far haven't tried either except a hose on the windshield of wagon. Of course, everything works in the driveways!
    Also ordered two Holley 600 Carbs. Reconditioned and polished out of Jacksonville, Fl. Son ordered one for his Chevy truck so since he was using my card I had him order one for the wagon. He convinced me it would get better fuel mileage than the Edelbrock. Right now I'm getting no mileage. The fuel line from tank up near front of passenger door still hasn't been replaced. The plus thing is I'm also not burning any fuel!:rofl2:

    Pulled the aftermarket. Started fiddling with the old setup. I am now happy to report that I at least have my driver's side wiper working .... sometimes. Need a new wiper switch.. IMPOSSIBLE to find electric wiper switches for the '58. It'll take awhile.. but at least I'm getting closer. Still need to find parts for the passenger's side. :banana:

    Used to have a friend, who had a tri-5 Chevy. Four dour, bench seats front and back AND wipers that didn't work. He and one of our other friends had worked out a system with kite strings. The strings were connected the wiper arms. The driver puled on the string that came in his windwing window and the other guy pulled on the string that came in his windwing window. Working together, they could keep the wipers moving. I'll understand if you want to pass on this idea. They lookedpretty stupid doing that. Of course, this was in SoCal, where it rains about two, three days a year.

    They should make a detailed drawing of this fix and sell it to an aftermarket parts company like Iditit.
    They'll add chrome plated plastic handles and use some state of the art fishing line in place of the kite string, and rat rodders will eat 'em up!
    :bouncy::rofl2::disagree:

    Seriously, lots of generic switches could be adapted to keep you safe and legal temporarily.

    Maybe it was :drink:, but I thought you had SOLD the Tiki wagon?

    If not, I am glad to hear you working on her again. And I can appreciate your suffering over the wipers. I dealt with that a while back too.
    Good luck sir!
