OK... first off let me apologise to the purists. Mea Culpa and all that. I am making a zombie apocalypse wagon and here's why: ITS GONNA HAPPEN!! ... maybe. The reason for the wagon and not a truck is a lower profile and shorter wheelbase increases maneuverability and hide ability. Also, an enclosed body means everything is enclosed inside metal. A straight six gives great torque and better fuel mileage. This aint gonna be a speed queen for sure. I need a tough go -anywhere billy goat of a vehicle. My original idea was to take a wagon body and stick it on a truck frame. Eaglefreek (say you on Eagles Nest forum, too) and Fannie turned me onto this AMC eagle critter that I had not seen before. I FELL IN LOOOOVE! Its perfect! The car that I will choose in this body type would not need to be perfect but in good running condition and without a lot of rust. The body will probably be coated in Line-X, have that UBER-sexy from bumper line what is on Eaglefreeks, and expanded metal grid over the windows. Its 130 am.. I will add more soon and have a buttload of annoying newb questions.
your ideas are abnormal which fits right in with us normal members????????? Normally photos will help.
Yah the eagle could be a good bug-out vehicle. Tough torquey inline six that can be built up. I think you can put a bunch of jeep parts on them.
Oh No, more Zombies! We have zombies roaming all over Coweta County these days anymore! http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/zombie-drama-brings-life-small-town/nPxwp/
Yikes! Too late at night and too many Bloody Marys! I have to apologies for the previous post! I try to stuff way too much into a given day. Often with undesirable results. I find that sometimes a mental picture conjuration works better with the conveyance of ideas that mere words. Movies seem to work best with this concept: Think of the car as being a melding of : 28 days later and Mad MaxII; Plus Equals a much more gnarly version of this:
There will be exposed welded plate that may be patinaed , or rattle-can, etc. for the outside visor, rear louvered visors with expanded metal underneath to protect the glass. These to be bolted on directly through the Line-x exterior coating. The front brush bar would hold a winch , grille protection, more lights. Exterior door handles would be disabled, naturally. Really, how thoroughly would it suck: "NEENERNEENERNEENER, ya dumb zombie, you cant get to me! Im inside this fortified car! " Then their undead fingers manage to find the outside latch. " Well, crap..." Add to that : Skidplates, heavy rear bumper, winch, rocker panel bars, and of course, roll cage... gotta have the rollcage. No? You aint seen me drive. Larger than stock tires with a thick tread are a must. Roof mount lights, old style cop swivel cop spotlights, and a few rear lights too.
The interior is going to be rather spartan. Pretty much most of it is going to be gone. In its place will be furniture blanket padding, bar padding, ad hoc lights, lots of storage for...'equipment' and 'consumables'. Also a radio rack for cb, fm, recharge batteries, flashlights ..etc. Some of its going to be for fun but some of it is serious, too. I am beginning to wonder if the Eagle chassis can take the weight of all that add-on stuff. I think it would fit because its just going to be my wife and I and MAYBE my 2nd youngest grandson, He is into my brand of insanity.. ( drives his mom NUTS!) Do you think that it might be a better idea to put an eagle body on a Jeep Chassis because of the add-on metal? And also because I have to tie onto the frame a lot on this design? If you think I am crazy... take a look a this:
Oh yeah! MOAR ZOMBI! That place is on my 'short term bucket list'! I want to see it SOOOOO bad! I envy you living near it!
SWF Quote of the year (so far) Doc Zombie: "Its 130 am.. I will add more soon and have a buttload of annoying newb questions." :2_thumbs_up_-_anima
umm that mad max badass eagle you post in the picture belongs to a memeber named "eaglefreak" and it has a chevy LSx in it! he has two badass eagle wagons.
This is all wrong. You have awoken--awaken--woke up those others with a perverted mind to build vehicles such as you dream. In fact, I could use one everyday on the streets of NW Florida just to make it to town and back safely! From latest internet warnings we all may need these vehicles just to survive. I really do believe everything I read on the internet!
You know, Cat, that the internet doesnt lie. I have spoken many o times aboot my love of apocalypse machines. DocZombie, i forsee many talks between us concerning ideas on this particular subject. Im so freakin excited!!!
