37 degrees this morning, nothing but cold rain. Kids were so dissapointed.

Supposed to be back in the sunny 60's by Sunday and I can't wait.

Thanks for sharing that with us Mike. This has to be almost a first, but we are warmer than you at 38 and also raining. However, the downside is, we are supposed to be back to continued rain for the next week with highs of 44 :49:

No wonder I dream of heading south.

We learn the same lessons here in the Pacific NorthWET. Every fall, we have a million accidents when the first rains hit...lifting all the oils out of the pavement for all the world to slide around on...spinouts on every curve. Everyone needs about a week to re-learn how to drive in the wet.

And when the snow and ice show up in the winter...all the 4x4's start out on the roads and wind up in the ditches.

I, too, am more worried about the other guy. Four years ago, we got 18" of snow/ice around Christmas, and as "essential personnel", I had to show up to work each/every day. I had a front-wheel-drive '01 Buick Park Avenue and tire chains driving on packed ice (no plows until about a week and half into the storms)...but, slow and steady wins the race...and I got to work every day...no spinouts...but everyone else was scaring the pee-water out of me!!!

When I lived in Portland I was so young and little I couldn't see the road from the back seat of mom's 34 Chevy.. But I still remember rain---rain--and rain. About all else I remember are those large ship yards and grapes. Oh yea---rain!
