Oh it won't be so bad, once it's cut and welded together alot of people will think it's one of the koolest things since sliced bread. That is why a took the time to draw the concept so people as well as myself can picture it.Just describing it is sometimes hard to get a visual in your head.seeing it take shape is gonna be the fun part

It would be kind of cool to do the drivers side in 2 door conversion and leave the pass side 4 door.

Sounds like a great mod. That wagon will be perfect as the body lines are nice and clean. You don't have the big 5MPH bumpers that year. You are right while very cool in wagon form no matter what you do to it it would never really be worth anything anyway. That is why I did the ranchero montego convesion to my 79. those are worth nothing mint and clean. So make it cool and uniqe!!! so to all you guys in doubt custom is good and has it's place. :)

The answer would be no on the lincolin. Ford/Merc midsize full frame platform that followed the Montego bodylines (elite 74-76,cougar74-79,t-bird 77-79, montego 73-76 for direct bolt up and if you don't mind modding the frame rail in front (for the bumper mounting) the 72.

    Interesting,.
might be easier to slice a 2dr body and frame,. and add the wagon rear frame roof section and quarters?
I,d like to build a proper 96 fleetwood wagon, not a b-body with caddy clip,.

why would I want to do that? have the wagon a have the Sport parts car and it's easier to graft in a quarter section into a side of a wagon, there is no messing with the top of the roof which would require a **** ton of bodywork cause wen you weld the roof skin no matter how good you are you will get warpage of the sheet metal. All's i'm doing is taking the doors off and cutting the center B pillar out and then bolting on the longer door then welding in a pillar and jamb from a 2 door with the quarter section attached to fill in where the rear door was.Very simple an easy. no frame to mess with and it's already a wagon so no cutting back there, just take out the rear side glass and weld it up smooth with sheet metal which is easy again.
your the second person that has said to me to graft the wagon back end on a 2 door which is entirely alot more work.plus I don't have a good 2 door body to cut as i'm not cutting my Sport and the Sport parts car is a rot boxand why it is donating the sections needed

The fun part is going to be filling in the 3 inch difference caused by the shorter wheel base of the 2 door cars. It is going to be a VERY interesting project when it is all done! I can't wait to see it.

i believe it's 4 inches longer on the wagon and sedan but that should not be an issue as the wagon quarter stays on the car and I'm jut splicing the quarter from the 2 door Sport to fill in the back door area and it all should work out fine cause you leave the dogleg on the wagon and weld to that. The rear door jamb will still be there but will get covered over by the quarter section from the Sport. if it is short in any way simply fill in with sheet metal, not my first rodeo with customizing and won't be an issue as i have tons of metal fab experience as i use to and still do make patch panels from scratch as years ago there wasn't all this aftermarket sheet metal available and I just get out a sheet of metal and start cutting and bending

did some measuring Sunday of the longer doors from the Sport and the quarter window and looks like I have to cut into the C pillar slightly for the back of the window but will have the section from the Sport to replace any structure. Will have to make a few inches of metal on the quarter as the quarter is a tad short at the bottom and was hoping the dog leg on the wagon would make up for it but it won't be bad at all to add what I need

Just want to say how much I love your Delivery! I know you don't have it as a parts car but it seems like a Ranchero would work better for the two door conversion since the wheel base is the same as the wagon.

I want to do the same thing but with a 1970 or 1971 wagon / Ranchero. Looking forward to your progress!

Watching in anticipation. Can't wait to see some progression pics, and the final result.

So when are you getting started?!
