I recently changed my avatar picture. When I joined the forum I wanted MODEL T but was told it was taken. Since joining I have still not seen or heard from this MODEL T person. Possibly I embarrased or scared him/her off. All the years I was a trucker I met only one other Model T. A very nice and polite woman trucker. On another forum I was slightly smarter and chose MODEL T 1 and suceeded. As you may notice here I ended up using CAT MODEL T, my email address. Since I worked at Caterpillar and used Model T as my CB handle it seemed like a good choice. However here I now get called CAT more than Model T or worse. I really don't mind even though I've hinted about leaving off the CAT portion. After changing my avatar from the one I really like better, I have been noticing and wondering about some of your avatars. Of course, many are self explainitory, it is the wagon or favorite car you drive. Yet there are others which I'm sure we scratch our heads wondering about. My new avatar combines both a Cat and a Model T. A simple logo for my new multi-million dollar company, or not . Sort of an all language avatar. This is a good place to explain what and why you choose your station wagon forum USER NAME and AVATAR.
My username inspriation is easy. I've got four daugthers (no sons); the oldest three have each restored a Corvair with me that went on to become their daily driver. The project car for the youngest, now 15, is sitting in our driveway. My avatar is a photo I took of the Corvair Monza wagon I just got.
Yea, we start out easy and logical. Our oldest son, now 53+ had a red Corvair Monza coupe for his first car. i think we loaned him a whole $75 for that car.

JRW is my initials; Scout refers to a statue here in KC that I've always liked. Here's a pic: The Scout is a famous statue by Cyrus E. Dallin in Kansas City, Missouri. It is more than 10 feet tall, and depicts a Sioux Indian on horseback surveying the landscape. The Scout was conceived by Dallin in 1910, and exhibited at the 1915 Panama–Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco, where it won a gold medal. On its way back east, the statue was installed on a temporary basis in Penn Valley Park. The statue proved so popular that $15,000 in nickels and dimes was raised to purchase it through a campaign called "The Kids of Kansas City." The statue was dedicated in 1922 as a permanent memorial to local Indian tribes. It is currently located east of Southwest Trafficway in Penn Valley Park, which is south of downtown Kansas City.
My Avi is the Shwags big ol sexy behind! and my last name is actually Savage...oh man Cat will have a hayday with that...
Cool topic C Model T. I have wondered about a few of the avaitars. Always figured there was a good explanation for them but was way to shy to ask. My STW avaitar is a twofer. The first fer...Fanny is the name of the owner. I think it's cool that a woman bought her first and a woman bought her last. In between a bunch of guys used and abused her. The other fer is the picture of the part that reinforces this forum and her name.
See, I could see you years ago, sitting in the doorway to your garage thinking and thinking, talking it over with your cat buddy and then it came to you. jrwscout, awesome statue, nice story.
Mine's pretty simple. My Caprice Estate is the reason why I came here. Actually looking for info on it before I bought the car, I had done a little research which brought me here. The pic is just me with my other wagon, my Colony Park.
