No offense from me. I have to agree, but since they are a "lifestyle" vehicle it is to be expected. I'd be interested on how well they sell with the ever increasing fuel prices.

No offense here either, though I'll admit that with each iteration, wagons get further from the original formula. The new Holden Sportwagon has lost the payload advantage it had over SUVs. With out the benefit of diesel economy, they are really losing the differences that made them an advantageous choice. If anything, the latest version is a fast back, not dissimilar to an A3. Then again, there isn't many true long backs left anywhere in the world.

You know what we haven't seen done is a Ragtop convertible, or, for more flexibity, hehehe, a moveable, retractable roof on a wagon. Like an armadillo-type set of panels that retract into the sides or right at the back tailgate. hmmm.

The old Phaeton sedans had long fabric convertible roofs, but back then most cars were never locked up, either.

^^^In Oz we had soft top Toyota 4 runners. Instead of rearward folding traditional soft top, you could unzip and roll the rear window then the whole thing concertinaed forward. It was crap though. ;)

Just thought I'd drop in some more Sportwagon pics kids. They are popping up everywhere lately.

This one, conveniently parked next to the earliest of the last generation:

lol, it's not what you think (no pervy German paraphernalia). In Queensland (Australias north east state) our beer is called Four Ex, literally "XXXX". ;) So it is a bottle shop.

Boy the alimony payments must be popular with a shop like those Four Ex's or the Aussies' like variety. :rofl2:
