I tried to get the clutch pedal on my 63 country sedan working properly. Still havent figured it out. Disconnected the rod to clutch and pushed pedal return spring pulled it to the firewall. think I might just add another spring to pull it up and see what happens.

Ran some errands today while the sun was out. Picked up a quart of interior paint so I can finally cover up the bare sheet metal the kids ground up. All the interior window frames are bare metal with light surface rust just starting to show. Hoping to get those painted before the Portland Roadster Show.
Coming home I just couldn't resist taking the loop out S. River Road to Independence and back up the West side of the River. Listened to "Aerosmith" (best of) and "The Astronauts" on 8-track with the windows down and the heater on. Beautiful day and well worth the cost of fuel vs. the mental health improvement.
    Wagon runs GREAT!

What exactly is happening? Sorry but I'm not understanding.... Is your peddle not coming back up all the way? My old 65 truck had clutch poeddle problems when I got it, peddle stayed low, so low that I had to put my foot under the peddle to bring it back up once I was in 3rd. It was kinda riding the clutch and I noticed the diffrence. clean, lubricate and a extra spring on the peddle cured the problem.

Bottom of tailgate was rotted out. Had to replace metal. Also the front side had issues as well... getting it there.

Also making a tranny cover as this car didn't have one.

Replaced the rear shocks on the Bonneville today. Amazing what a difference it made!
I was surprised to find that both shocks were bad; the rear end never really bounced.
The new shocks made a big difference in cornering.

    Next step: quick-ratio steering gear!

    Work on 69 T&C

Well in Jan I had a freeze plug leak, so I finally had time to get it on my buddies lift. It was, of course, the one behind the motor mount, Changed it out. Today we will re-replace the A/C compresser and clutch, I lost my charge and siezed it! I will be sending out the hoses to be re-done with new "hose" to classic air. I also scored a set of NOS rear assist handles for the tailgate area. On a side note, after almost 2 years I have been hired full time at the store I had only been working 20 hours. I once again have a 40 hour week job, and health benifits!!! With this back in place I can get some bills paid up, and finally get the 440 in the wagon rebuilt. I am hoping for 425-450 horse, spot on reliabilty, and enough tourque to pull the Airstream, effortlessly. MPJ
