Did you all know that in the 59's and later that all full size Pontiacs built in Canada were built on Chevy frames and had Chevy drivetrains. I guess "Wide Track" didn't apply in Canada. I don't know when or if they ever stopped doing this.
In 1965, our transparent government promoted the Auto Pact (a nasty war was on between the UAW and the CAW) AND that, at last Canadians would get the same models as those in the US. Oh wow! We got our first taste in 1967. New Catalytic converters, air pumps, and all those neat sensors. They snuck in the Acid Rain legislation without a whimper in the media. No wide-track, but we did get the Nameplates. Bonneville, etc. Mopar was ahead up here, though. We had the racing division warehouse up here, and you could get goodies (if you knew the part numbers) and order direct. We got a 200 MPH speedo for a 1965 Monaco for the Hemi engine, back in 1972. That 1958 Hemi took it to the limit MANY times. My dad had the tickets to prove it too! Ford did't have many US-only models, that I can recall.
You have to admit the Canadian GM models had a really nice blend to them to make then a little different.
Rk's right...it could have been any of the 3! but that goes North n South of the border... ...another side note on the 59/60 Poncho....if it was a Canadian car... ...only!?! the front fenders from another, hood and such from another Canadian car will fit!!! the Can car had a longer front chassis!!
1970.5 Falcon. Easy to tell, the Falcon was the only one of the three (Falcon/Fairlane/Torino) to be offered as a 2 door post sedan. -MP
