I saw this wagon earlier today somewhere, its beautiful. Uh, tail, like your 53 Chev wagon, but er...........could I bother you for a :camera: of your 41 Cadillac. My grandpa had one, a sedan though. I never saw it except in pics somewhere. :tiphat:

That was quick! Thanks! My grandpa's was a 4 door sedan, not sure which model. It actually was involved in a head on collision. My Pop was 16 at the time and driving his mother back to Alton, Illinois from a shopping trip over to St Louis when they got clobbered by someone trying to pass on the 2 lane hwy. Apparently they were not hurt too bad but I remember seeing pictures of the car all torn up. He replaced that car with a 42 Cadillac, got it before production ceased early in the model yr for the war effort. Those pics are :camera::camera::camera::camera::camera: rated btw!

    Hooda Thunk?

This Caddy has been on the road more than 30 years since I bought it in pieces for $1800 in San Francisco, and drove it to Texas from California, and then drove to Copper Habor, MI, where we stopped at every bar we came to for "just one," and have a bartender signed logbook to prove it. Still runs like a champ, and will take me anywhere.

Took the Buick out for a ride tonight to get an estimate to replace the original upholstery. The existing lacquer paint needs some touch up, or a modern re-spray. No one wants to do touch up on a few chips and shrinkage spots. HELP!?

Got it off a used car lot for $1800. I kept telling my buddies that as I drove back and forth to work and saw it sitting there, if I ever pulled in, I was doomed to buy it. 60K granny car totally rust free. Just needed the usual $2000 tune up: carb, brakes, belts, hoses, battery, tires radiator, exhaust to put it on the road.
A '47 Buick Wagon is much like the Town & Country I started in this thread. [IMG]

I have a thread going where I'm thinking a Cadillac CTS-V Wagon might be the next last hope of mankind as far as wagons are concerned. Check it out. http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17375

If you were my buddy and gave me the 41 Caddy or 47 Buick, I'd go crazy trying to decide which one I'd take. You have some beautiful vehicles tailwagon!
Maybe I could take you to Michigan and get you drunk first !:rofl2:

    Hobson's Choice

I have to deal with it every weekend. It's a Hobson's Choice.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hobson's_choice. The one closest to the barn door. My plan is to have "Tom Sawyer" buddies to show up and frolic. You must wash to ride. I'll toss you the keys. As usual, everyone is "too busy."

Everything goes back to those English dudes, one way or another. I just wanted one of your coupes, not your stable of horses!:slap:
I remember my dad's friend having a black 47 or 48 Buick like that. It was smooth and quiet, as was my friend's 41 Caddy.
Almost forgot, Xavier just did my nails so I can't wash your cars.

Mike, haven't seen any posts by Xavier for awhile. Don't believe he's been on. Don't know how to check here to see his last posts. I was kidding about the nails. I do my own by wearing them down naturally.

Try to get the garage launched for the festivities.
You think I can Own, Garage, Maintain, Have a Battery, and have a Party in this fleet without your efforts?
I toss the keys to the frolicsome washers. and buy beer.

    Everything is a maintenance
    problem. everything you own.
