Our dear friend and neighbour John Usher suffered a brain aneurysm Monday afternoon while in the arms of his sweet wife, Lynn.
They(EMS) did all they could but there is no hope. I last spoke to Lynn this morning, he was still on life support waiting to find organ donor recipients.
John is/was the glue in his family, he has 5 children, 4 sons and a daughter, she is the youngest(13). He took great pride in doing all for his family and helping his neighbours. We all have lost a fun loving, wonderful man who will truely be missed by all of us on our street.
They moved here a few short years ago but the entire family very quickly made freinds with just about everyone they encountered. He is one of the neighbours who helped remove the trees in my back yard. He also replaced those trees with sod and help develop my back yard. He also mows another neighbors lawn, shovels another neighbors driveway. (She too just lost a husband.) He never wanted anything in return, just believed he should help because he could, that's probably why he joined the military, he served in the Army as a communication tech.
His oldest son is much like his dad and has taken over the role as man of the house. As he told me this A.M. " I've got a stress headache it's not easy being the man of the house". This family have their challenages ahead of them. The three young children have forms of autism but we are hopeful that the military resource family will help them through everything.

On this street we have lost 5 husbands in the past few years. When I was talking with a neighbour I suggest we move the last few husbands of this street to keep them safe.

It is so surreal that he is gone... you are already missed John...

Please stay save guys, it's really hard on us women left behind.
    Thanks for listening...again!

That's a lot of hubbies on the same street! Some Statistics Canada number cruncher will want to check that out.

Well Fannie, the widows are lucky you're empathetic. Just don't let it get you down.:naughty:

Yes, death is always sad. The death of a daddy with so many children heartbreaking. This is scary. I am a husband... And been thinking extra hard lately about life----and death. Today is the day we should all be thankful for what we do have. I know, Canada already celebrated their special thanksgiving. But we should be thankfull everyday we wake up breathing on our own. Tomorrow will come too soon!

Thanks everyone, I know you would all be so supportive.

He was removed from life support yesterday about 11:30am. The military Chaplin and a few others were at her home today, they couldn't get there yesterday due to the snow storm. They will be taking care of all the expenses for the funeral and most of the arrangements, one less thing for her to deal with. The funeral will be on Saturday.
I made her walk around the block with me this evening, when we got back to the house her son has just about everything organized for Saturday. Hymns, bag pipers picked out. An assortment of urns for his mom to pick from...what a great young man! I cleaned up the kitchen while they're deciding on things, turned on the dishwasher and left...not much else I can do... I have experience with dishes and walking...

    Thanks again guys
