A little late to the conversation, but I knew from the moment I saw it that the rear emblem holder was Plymouth.

Just now stumbled on to this thread. What an amazing junk yard. Wouldn't you love to be retired and be able to go out and make sense of all those cars; strip away all the moss and arrange them is some sort of order. I agree; there's an incredible amount of re usuable parts in there. I'm dying to know the history of the place.

    Yup...me too, snoot!
AND...I would love to get in there with a bunch of tools, be left alone for about a month and strip parts. I could get rich from that place.:D
BUT....I wouldn't want to strip away the moss and rearrange them. The place has a beautiful serenity about it just the way it is.:yup:
    EDIT:
And, by the way...I AM retired! :D

Alright, well after cleaning up the vomit and wiping away the tears....

Truly sad to see this. A Studebaker is not a damn Amphicar, get it out of the water! A Bullet Nose Starlight at that. Somebody must get the story on this. You might want to slap the owner especially if he won't sell them too.

Well, well well! I always said that some of the coolest stuff can be found right in your own backyard if you look carefully enough! :thumbs2:

Thanks to Xavier for pointing me to this thread. I think I joined on or about the time this was first posted so must have missed it the first time around.

After living all my 52 years of age in and around Salem Oregon, I am almost 100% sure the "junkyard" is located in the Coast range. The ferns, moss and small size of the trees suggest an area logged repeatedly until legislation completely killed the industry in the 80's.
Since there are a few Washington plates on the cars... that suggests a county close to the Columbia River. Clatsop, Tillamook, Columbia and Washington counties make the most sense. Tillamook county once had a thriving lumber business until the Tillamook fire of 1941 made lawyers and government officials step in and choke off everything creating a National wilderness area.
A good portion of Clatsop and most of Tillamook counties are now National forests. Anything like this junkyard would have been removed by now.
The yard is not too close to the Pacific or there would be lots more rust than what I see so that lets out mostall the costal property west of the mountains.

What I see is definitely on private land and near a stream or creek.

Columbia seems the most logical county to begin searching. I have been there and other than the small town of Saint Helens, is all rural and all privately owned. Lots of gravel roads that.
So.. who's up for a road trip? :bouncy:

What a great find. So sad but glad we could see these pictures. Now I see why the member with the 440 Chrysler engine couldn't get it to spin over.
My ideas that west coast cars never rust or rot are now gone.
This looks more like south Africa in the rain forest!

Everytime I come to this forum I discover something new to spend hours on. I even saw a 50's Chevy panel truck that looked better than mine.:slap:
    Right in Jairus' backyard.

Can that '58 Chev get anymore rotted ??!!

The place is artful in a way, eerie in another.

How big do the snakes get in Oregon? Might need to wear our huntin boots when we sneak in there. :(
