Builder and Fannie: Thanks for gambling on a copy, you guys! I hope you find something in there that you like. Be sure to tell me what I screwed up...

Doc: That appears to be a nice specimen! What's the drivetrain? Allison? Steam power? Nuclear? Do tell.

Well, right now it has a 231 Buick V-6, 350 TH transmission, stock rear end.

I am in the process of assembling the parts to use an s-10 rear end. I have S-10 spindles for the front. I have a T-5 five speed to go in. I got the flywheel. I got the clutch pedal. Going to use a hydraulic clutch. I bought a 1985 hot air Buick turbo motor to put in. I want to go through the motor and freshen it up a bit. Contemplating going to an intercooled system... We'll see.

I got a set of Pontiac rally II rims and GT Qualifier tires for the swap to five lug. They just look so "Pontiac"

I am working on the buck to make a fiberglass airdam for the front. I bought a custom made steel valance for the back. It is cool. I have Firebird turn signals for the for. I would like to make a Formula style hood.

The car already has power steering and power brakes now courtesy of the previous owner. I want to switch to a rack and pinion because the front end parts are damn near impossible to find and mine are pushing 35 years old.

The dash is from a 1975 Buick Skyhawk. The Buickk also donated it's tilt wheel to the fray. I just bought a later model Monza dashboard because I like the looks better. I also bought a new steering wheel to replace the Buick on that is there right now.

I figure it is going to be a lot easier to do a bunch of stuff at once so i am stockpiling the parts. Doing the front end is going to easier with the engine out. Putting in the new clutch and transmission will be easier, too.

It is a hoot to drive right now. Should be even more fun next spring... LOL!

Doc: Yikes! Does it have a flush toilet? Seems to have everything else. Seriously, what a cool project. I love that it's all done with real world parts on a realistic budget. I'll be keeping an eye out for road test results after you get all the mods done. The hair drier and T-5 should really kick up the fun factor... Have fun screwing it together!

A flush toilet... Hmmmm. My ex-brother-in-law used to have big rot holes in the floor of his pick up truck and used to just pee out the floor while he was driving. Yeah, he was quite the character...

As far as real world parts... I got the spindles for free. they were a week old when my buddy swapped them out for Belltechs on his 2WD Blazer. Had them in his garage forever and basically told me to get them out so he didn't have to throw them out.

The turbo motor I bought over the winter from a on-line car buddy for $50.00. The was the complete motor, wiring harness, and control box. Couldn't pass the deal up.

I paid $400 for the transmission. Came with a Pro shifter on it.

The dash and steering wheel I got via a trade with a fellow H Body guy for a set of V-8 headers i had and was never going to use. The dash and pad is darn near perfect. So is the wheel.

The steel valance panel was bought for $130 shipped to my house. It needs to primed and painted but the workmanship was very good. the guy builds them for fun.

I am on the look out for the rear end for the car. i am looking for a 7.5" and plan on a disc brake swap. Sometimes you can find them with disc brakes already.

I bought the flywheel with a rebuilt carb for $45. cost me $40 to have the flywheel cleaned up.

I am going to buy the clutch set up from Novak Adapters. They have a real nice set up and it is made to work with the Buick bellhousing.

Some of the other stuff I am working on trading work for. I believe in true hot rodding. I like being able to adapt stuff to work instead of just throwing money at an upgrade. I see too many cars at shows that are little more than bolt on goodies and catalog cars.

I also just bought a real nice set of Pontiac Soltice bucket seats for the car. I have Camaro bucket seats in it now but I find them to be a little uncomfortable. I researched seats and these are ones that a lot of people just love. i looked and waited until i found a set that were the right colors so i didn't have to go through the hassle and expense of having them redone.

This car is a real blast to have.

There's a copy under the short leg of this computer desk. And it sops up coffee just as good as oil. Kills bugs better than any magazine, too.

59: I don't mean to brag, but this book makes an excellent bathroom reader. Tastey stories, told in bite sized chunks.

Someday I hope to find a copy in the restroom of one of my favorite shops - then I'll know I've officially arrived.

Fannie: When the Purolator guy spots this book, he'll instantly develop trust issues requiring years of therapy. And he'll be too nervous to ever enter your house again.

Wait a minute. Purolator guy?! You mean, a door-to-door oil filter salesman/delivery man? You're really living the good life up there!
    Sounds like... heaven...

PS: Went to the Post Office today and noticed a sign on the front door: "Due to the Canadian Postal Strike, we are not accepting mail to Canada"

My thanks to whoever delayed the strike until after the wagon books were delivered! It had to be someone on this board...
