:rofl2:yup! Seems like she has some lazy ass friends, Fat. Everyone trying to screw her around saying it can't be done....insurance company telling her it may be totaled.....and, in the meantime, the parking lot is charging her the daily rate. What the hell is wrong with people today?? Even I could get that car out with help.

Especially after it hitting the news of 'it can't be done"...youd think a hord of tow companys would chim in to get 5 minutes of fame on TV saying..."We Did It!, what was so hard?"

And another thing, so what happenes if they total the car because of it? will it stay in the parcade till hell freezes over?

:rofl2:....and.....what's with the dealers??? Why do they have to have the car at the dealership??? What....they need to read a number off it?? They can't help the girl and send someone THERE??
I liked it in my day when people actually helped one another. I just don't understand many people today. They are either stupid or just don't care about anyone but themselves.

this is simple....put it on a set of car dollys (every tow company has one). you bring a gravely car pusher (you usually see them at toll plazas)or a pickup with a tow rope and slowly push it up the ramps to the surface. 30 min...ordeal over. id offer to do it for free if she bought the dollys for me. ( i can use them).

i wonder if she would ever buy another prius? i wouldnt ever buy the first one!

Yeah, Ian....not much of a problem getting that car out of there. Probably out by now with all the news coverage.
Buy the first one? Not hardly. I don't even like THINKING about them. Guy I know bought one for a rural mail route car. Has a broken tail light now.....been that wy for about a year. I asked him why he didn't fix it.......tail light = $350. :rofl2:
I wouldn't pay that for the whole car. I kid you not. I hate everything about them.....and others like them.

mike, i drove one to florida. (2nd gen) it was a terrifying experiance every time i got passed by a semi. they are lightweight, so they blow all over. and also because of the lightness they are noisy on the highway.
the seats were hard, interior chinsy, and the ride was rough. i got 50 mpg at times but it was not a worthwile tradeoff in my opinion.
i think i may replace my f150 with a park ave when i can afford it! now that gets mpg and has a nice ride for fwd.

    That is hillarious.....
Doesn't anybody have any creative thinking anymore?
Like Tedy says - would be a teriffic publicity opportunity for a local towing company, and would maybe take all of about an hour.....

Do these cars have GPS(like ONSTAR)? Can't they open by remote?

I really have a hard time believing that Toyota doesn't have a back up plan for lost keys??? This is ridiculous...

Opening it isn't the problem. Starting it is the problem.

In my experience, folks who buy/drive a Prius are of a certain political persuasion. Those same folks generally are on the look out for anyone to blame when there is a problem, and eager to find anyone who will bail them out. In my experience.

Just makes me shake my head. We could have it out of there in no time. I have a tow strap and a Powerstroke.

Chalk another great PR moment up for Tayoto.

As far as getting great MPGs, a family friend just bought a VW Passat wagon with the little Turbo Diesel. Took it on a trip last weekend. It got 55 MPGs. I'm not a huge fan of VW (just personal preference, don't take offence) but I'd take one of those over the Prius rattle trap status symbol in a heart beat.

There's going to be a lot more 'Prius talk' soon around here, as they're about to bring out a Prius wagon........
