It's the Plymouth Plainsman, a concept car built around 1955. Here's a long thread we had about it, with more pictures.... http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9959&highlight=Plymouth+Plainsman
A 900 SPG/Aero Turbo? I'd take it. The thing could run circles around some so-called sports cars of the day. And beats them easily in looks when many cars of the day were still hideous combinations of slab-sided boxes and rectangles. Whomever designed the Pontiac Aztek should still be taken out and shot. Perennial favorite for any ugly list. Uh, right.... Looks like a short Aztek
I had forgotten about this major ugly, until I saw one in traffic tonight. Almost lost my Steak n Shake! This has to be the ugliest station wagon ever! Truly bad styling. David
I don't find the '92-'96 Camry wagon to be ugly at all. Clean, simple styling. Double wipers on the back is bit odd, but that's been done before. Tail lamps could have been handled a bit better. I will say the design is not quite as successful as the previous generation Camry wagon.
Truly bad, hideous, ugly and awkward all at the same time. There'/s just no saving grace to it. You can't even pick out once part or section of the exterior and say "Well, the xxxxxxx looks sharp".
Eeee gawd that's horrible........ IMO, those vintage Cougars looked pretty sharp. They uglyed up this one real good.
I always thought it was a good idea - just needed to be executed a bit better. The idea was to make a compact (small) car, but make it wide, for more interior room. The Pacer was actually about as wide as the big Matador. When you got inside though, the thing that seemed to dominate the interior though was this huge transmission hump. Then there was the glass....Fantastic visibility, but also fantastic heat transfer. Without A/C, even those in the northern climates would begin cook after 10 minutes in moderate temperatures. Not too effective A/C - that is if you actually had A/C. Should have made it standard in the car......
