Gawd, I hope that blue/teal thing was made for Ice Cream sales at the beach or some thing..... As for the second....your walking a fine line calling that ugly wagon ugly
That's a wagon with some real significance to it. We've covered it here before - the Plymouth Plainsman, a concept wagon meant as something that would compete with Chevy's Nomad. Had the spare stowed in the quarter, later used on Chrysler's wagons from '57 - '59. This wagon's now privately owned.
Looks like something you'd find in Moscow...Lenin's "E-state of Repose" RoadCzar wagon with OmniViewski rear. One for The Motherland! "до свидания, Комраде!"
Hear, Hear!! Remember when you were a kid and you made a game out of picking out cars by their headlights/taillights? Each car had a uniqueness all it's own. Even if you compared a Ford and a Mercury, there were distinct differences to indicate what it was. These days the grocery store parking lot might as well look like a single dealership, no matter what you buy, it looks just like what your neighbour bought. Makes me proud to pull into the local mall with my wood paneled monstrosity and have it stand out with a personality all it's own!! It's getting the same with absolutely everything. Whether it's music, movies, TV Shows, etc. Everything is a re-hash of something that somebody else already had success with. Directors and recording artists can make millions copying somebody else's work and calling it their own yet people are being dragged to court for downloading that same work without paying their $0.99. Did we really need a re-make of True Grit????? After 3 multi-million dollar releases of Spider-Man, is it really necessary to re-write it and try again? Reality TV??? What happened to creativity? The only place anyone creates anything original anymore is the fashion industry. Guess that's 'cause nobody's really paying attention or buying any of it. I think car manufacturers should be forced to sit down with automotive engineers from the 50's and 60's and try to absorb just a little bit of the drive and passion that caused those folks to create some of the most beautiful rolling pieces of art that ever came along. Never mind just reworking the old ideas like the Challenger or the Charger. Stop trying to create something that everyone will buy, and create 5 different somethings that lots of people will buy!! How about we go back to letting people choose what they want rather than choosing it for them before they've even thought it over? Sorry, little off topic there, musta accidentally sat down on my rant switch.
Yup, today Saturday I had to go the ........ the mall! Parking, a gong show, people..even worse. But when I left the Buick stuck out in the croud over all the plastic.
You said it all...and I agree. Originality in North America is down the toilet. Remember when it was the Soviets who used to copy everything we made? Not anymore. We used to be great...
The Mrs was none too sure about my desire for a wagon. It didn't help any when my final choice had woodgrain. Last week, while coming out of the grocery store she said, "Ya know your car looks pretty cool sitting there. It really stands out and I like that it's easy to find". It looks like the den mother has accepted the wagon into the pack.
Ok like this car/van/ice cream thing wasn't unique enough...then they paint this very special color eeeooooooo
IMO this car looks confused. Those big chrome bullets under the headlights look like they should be on the back of the car. Is there signal lights...I'm not seeing them??? Same with the roof...I'd like to see this car from the back it probably looks the same...is it a Studebaker?
Looks to me like Ford stole the idea for the Mrucury. My Dad had a 63 2 door 4spd 352. 1964 1963 1965 1966 Hmmmm. who stole what idea from who first? Both Ford but a 1960 Anglia.
