My son and I got the engine and trans removed last week. I wished I had more time to work on the car. Of course I could work on it this weekend, but 70 degree weather and clear skies will let the Chevelle have priority over the Vega project. One of the Camaro projects is progressing however.
The machine shop called today and said the machine work was done on the 454 and ready to be picked up. I guess the ball is in my court now.....lol
I've been busy over the summer and haven't got to post any updates, so here goes. I finally got some time to get back on the car. We have started stripping the paint. The pictures I'm posting show the car in bare metal and the windshield rust repair is finished. With the exception of a couple of pieces, I have managed to collect most of the rare parts needed for the conversion, Phase III ignition box, NOS Mallory YC-310-HP distributor, etc. My friend Todd has his small block wagon just about completed. I'll post some pictures of it as well.
Hooker Headers used to make a big block conversion mount for the Vegas. They no longer offer them. Someone on Ebay is offering a repop piece for around 300.00...lol I decided to make my own. The black one in the pictures is a real Hooker mount that belongs to a friend. Mine is the one in bare metal at the bottom.
isnt that a plump woman in Spandex???....in Walmart....driving a Mini... ...(i could go on )... some really nice work Motion
I got the transmission and shifter installed and the heater box cover modified today. I'll start on the shifter boot "hump" tommorrow. Wished I could have gotten more done, but I was slow moving. I ate to much yesterday...lol
