Well my recruiter told me I have a job it's structural apprentice or at least that's what he says I could also be aircraft structural apprentice but I leave november 16 so I have time to keep training for spec ops.
Stick to your plans. When I signed up for the Army, I went ROTP (Officer Training in Engineering (bridges, etc.). As a kid, we moved around a lot, and when I was 9 (grade 6 in English Canada) we moved to Quebec in a French Catholic school), they dropped me to Grade 5 (No catechism, no Latin, no Greek, and barely remembered any French) but I graduated into Quebec's Cours Classique past their grade 13, into first year pre-university. And we moved again to Ontario, where they dropped me into Grade 11!!! I honestly didn't know how to spell Shakespeare! But I could recite every French authour and give the English teacher a good reaming in Latin or Greek and the self-made intellectual couldn't tell if I was cussing him or thanking him. I quit English highschool in February, and signed up with the Army in English Canada, for the ROTP. They make everyone go through Infantry Basic Training, and then on to your chosen training, if you're qualified. I get through Basic, and find I'm a pretty good sharpshooter, but the Infantry wants to keep me. The base commander hauls me in and tells me that my Quebec graduation doesn't count because I signed up in Ontario! Same Country, 2 nations! My ROTP had a clause that I could leave if there was no room in the next course or if something by the Forces stood in the way. My highschool graduation wasn't good enough!?! I quit. I went to nightschool and finished my English highschool and won a scholarship to go to University and get my Engineering degree and did my Business Degree at the same time! Never regretted it. Stick to your plan. It may get bumpy, but too many people wander around not knowing what they really want and waste their lives looking. You know what you want, don't lose it.
I understand what you mean and yeah I really want to go into pjs so that's what I'm training to do right now, and since I'm not leaving till november I might be able to get my wagon before I go for my wife lol she doesn't like wagons but I will change her to the darkside!
Bowser...If you don't mind me asking, exactly HOW are you training for Pararescue if you're not in the Air Force yet? I know a little something about the PJs and I'd be interested in hearing some more about your "training".
I recieved your PM. I'm impressed with your workout. Most people don't know this but the Air Force Para Rescue is the TOUGHEST Special Forces Outfit there is. Navy Seals have washed out of there program. Mind boggling, I know. But nevertheless, true. Anyway, you should go on military.com and go into the Air Force General Discussion forums and look for a guy that goes by the name of "Joncha". I think that's how it's spelled. Anyway, he is a retired PJ. ANY questions you want answered, HE is the one to ask. He's THE BEST of the best!! Good Luck to you.
I took my PAST test last Thursday and failed by 5 sit-ups but I'm scheduled for a retake in the next two weeks so hopefully I'll do better then. It kinda threw me off they were counting for the other guy who was still on 22 when I was on 40 but I just couldn't push it anymore for some reason I usually can do more...
