In 1977, I found this great 1 owner wagon on a used car lot down the street from a Pontiac dealer in Bakersfield, who had taken it trade for a new car. Had a 283, 2 barrel, powerglide. After dickering for a couple of weeks with the sales guy is who wanted $2,995.00, I ended up going back down & getting it for $875.00!
I got it home & installed a 4 barrel Eddelbrock intake, a mild cam, lifters, roller chain & gears, Holly carb, & dual exhaust. It became our family car, drove it for years & way over 100k miles, eventually getting a repaint in original white & the seats recovered in the original green again in the stock pattern. Been parked for over 20 years. Fresh gas, & battery it fired right up & ran great! Master cyclinder was bad, so I replaced it. Time to give it the resto-mod it deserves. We made many trips from our home on California's Central Coast to see the wife's family in the Delano area. Best car we ever owned. A/C still bolws cold to! Since I am now retired, Im getting started real soon!
