Initially I started out with a lawn mower I picked up out of a neighbors yard, fixed it up and sold it for $500 I was 13 then. With the money i went around and made some quick deals involving some small motorcycles, I bought a 1983 Honda FL250 Odyssey and sold it for $1,200. I then bought a non running 1999 Yamaha ytm 200 Blaster with some hop-ups from a friend for $500, I got it running great and then returned later to buy his 1983 Yamaha BW 80 for $250.
I got bored with the Blaster and looked around for something else. On Ocala4sale I found a 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 with a FE 428, we talked for a while and he decided he would trade. So that weekend me and my dad loaded up the bike and drove to Ocala to get the car. I was 14 when I had this car, and it was by far the fastest car I've had to this day but it needed quite a bit of work and I wasn't interested enough to stay with it.
I started looking again for a different car, on craigslist I found a 1966 Pontiac Catalina wagon with a Hi Comp 389(the car I joined the site with). We talked for a while and eventually me and my dad loaded up the Galaxie and headed down to Hobe Sound to get the Catalina. I love those cars and even now I still think their my favorite body style. the car was in alright shape, but the deeper I dug the less and less enthused I became. So I did some body work myself to get it sell-able, I was 15-16 while I had this car.
I listed the wagon on craigslist for sale or trade, It stayed on there for quite a long time with nothing but a few ridiculous offers ("no I won't trade for your scooter...") But eventually a couple with a 1979 K5 Blazer came with an offer. The Blazer was in very good original condition with eighty some odd thousand miles. So I decided I would trade and they came down from Jacksonville and towed the Catalina back up to its new home.
The Blazer was a great truck and everything worked in it, great! But it just wasn't my style, too new for me. So I decided early on that I wasn't going to keep it long, I had it for about 6 months and then I posted it on eBay, it sold next week for $4000.
So back to craigslist I went. In a couple weeks I found a 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass for $4500 that looked great! So I decided I'd buy it, me and my dad drove all the way to Tampa just to find out that its was horribly misleading and the car was junk. I was very mad and we drove to the nearest McDonalds to eat, I had previously been talking to a guy with a 1964 Ford Country Sedan and was thinking about trading my Blazer for it, but I sold it. So I looked up his phone number from previous emails we exchanged. I called him up and I'm glad I did, we drove about an hour and a half to the south to a place called Port Charlotte, and the Wagon was beautiful! I loved it and bought it for $3500 and drove it 180 miles home that night.
This is the car I have now, it's a 1964 Ford Galaxie Country Sedan with a 289 2bbl and c-4 with 138,090 miles and she's my daily driver. All the chrome has been re-plated or is new, and the interior and body is in great shape, she has a few dings here and there but she's still great. I'm not a fan of the small block though so I bought a 460 and transmission that I'm going to put in her in the next upcoming months. I'm very happy, excited, and oh yeah....still only sixteen =)
