Okay guys I am torn between two wagons. I currently have my 74 Buick that everyone has seen on here, 52,500 miles all original, has some minor bruises on her here and there. Interior is impecable and she drives great. I have always wanted to get an 8 passenger car. My Buick is not but she is a great car.

I have located another one owner 1973 Chevy Impala wagon, 8 passenger, pretty much indentical options except this one has a manual tailgate, has tow package with hitch and interior is very good but car needs a dash pad and one minor tear repaired in the front seat. The elderly lady ordered the car and has all documentation for it. Exterior is excellent but car has 100,000 miles but they had GM rebuilt the motor and transmission at 90,000 "just because" Very nice lady and I really like the car, I am just unsure what to do. Attached are pictures of both cars. I cannot keep both, only one. Which car would you guys keep.

Don't judge by the wheels, the Chevy will be getting some sort of nice rims.

Well thanks Cat, I am torn. I LOVE my Buick, but I have always been a Chevy man and I know the engines like the back of my own hand. I love the styling of my Buick's dash and the Buick is more rare in my opinion, but the Chevy is 8 passenger, I love the interior color, exterior color is pretty cool to. Both cars are well documented and have a great history. If only I could keep them both.......Wonder if the wife would sell her Firebird and drive a wagon????

No way would I pick that Chevy over your 12 passenger Buick. (6 can sit Indian style in the back)

    Your Buick is too sharp.

Hey! You asked. I repeat "no way!"

I wish i had your problem. Lol. I had a Chevy back in the day so that's what I would go with. Tough decision, good luck.

Personally I like the looks of the Buick better. But given your familiarity with the Chevy and the fact that it's an 8 passenger, I'd think you would lean that way.

By the way, did you say it has a manual tailgate? Meaning it works the same as the regular clamshell gate/glass but is hand cranked? I didn't know they had those. I've seen hand crank rear window glass, but didn't know that was an option on the clamshell.

Not a hand crank. It has a trip lever and it drops down. Pull it up and it latches

And I'll tell you another thang!!!

If the Chevy is in such great shape, what difference does it make if you are more familiar with it or not? Plan on it breaking down?

    Plus that color:oops:mg:

I guess you know I dig your Buick.

I am crazy. I am attracted to the Chevy only because the 8 passenger option. My Buick is cooler, a big block, I have tons of literature about it and you hardly ever see a Buick. Chevy wagons are everywhere. I just want them both. If it was tax return time it would be no issue. But momma don' t like when I dive into the savings account to buy cars. Decisions, decisions.

I, too, think I would stick with the Buick if I had to choose.

What engine does the Impala have?

I think I would stick with the Buick. A 455 is hard to argue with, except at the pump.

400 small block. I just came home from taking my son to golf practice, two elderly guys stopped and said "Wow, you did a great job restoring that wagon" To which I said " Its not been restored, its original" They both swore I had a frame off done on the car. With that said, the Buick is staying where it is. Anyone looking for a very nice 73 Impala wagon???
