OK, guys...I would like to know exactly which car events you plan to attend this Spring/Summer/Fall? Please post the event(s) that you will attend, it's name and location and the dates. I know some of you haven't planned yet but when you do...please come back to this thread and post your info. I would like to go to some events this summer and I would like to hook up with some of our members so I would like to know the events that you will be attending and all the pertinent info. Perhaps we could get together for some of these events and all park next to each other in the event. Let me know. THANKS!
I'm planning on going to Carlise, Pa in the Spring sometime. They usually have a huge auction/car corral which my brothers and I love. I'll let you know when I get the details on it.
Not sure of the dates but there is a spring and fall Oldsmobile show I make just south of me. Plus the all GM Nationals at Carlisle as well as Spring and fall swap meets there. After that it is local stuff mostly. I would love to to the Power Tour or RTTH's but those largely depend on my head being ok. I also want to do atleast one track event again depending on my head.
Hey everyone.....look into the Wagon show that Krash posted elsewhere.....here's what he posted......(if this is a well attended wagon show I will likely attend) The ASWOA Convention (American Station Wagon Owners Association) in Dearborn, Michigan - June 26, 2010 http://aswoa.com/main/?p=209
I am really considering the ASWOA Convention in Dearborn, Michigan - June 26, 2010. Its not that bad of a ride out there. Then possibly Carlisle's All-GM Nationals - June 25 - 27, 2010 Its not like my cars are show worthy at all, hell they both need a ton of work to be anywhere near presentable at a big event. Paint work on Blue is needed on the hood, front bumper and roof. Maybe that is a good excuse for a fiberglass hood so I have the clearance for my TBI mods?
I'm thinking of those 2 as well, Blackie. And don't worry what your rig looks like! There is a lot worse junk there than your wagons! Hey...someone may even offer to buy one of them. No one is posting dates and some aren't certain yet...please post again when you are certain and know all the info so we can make plans.
I would sell the white on in a second and use that money to put into a LT1 Roadie or Caprice, prefer a woodgrain delete version. I am thinking about buying a crate motor for the blue one, would really love a 454 H.O., but a fastburn 350 would be great too.
Don't worry about how your car looks. I realized a long time ago that the cars on the show field aren't as good as we make them up to be. Besides have you seen the underneath of my car? Hell the Interior is far from done. The way I look at it is this. Most times it is just as cheap to register a car for the show field as it is for admission and you don't have to walk to and from your car because it is right there.
That is true Stick, but atleast you have an excuse, yours are unfinished drivable projects, mine are abused drivers, LMAO!
That's actually the reason I bought mine. SO I would have a place to hide when I get a migraine. I use it alot for this at shows as I can't always take a full day, because of the bright light, heat and just in general.
This sounds like fun. I definitely plan to go to this convention. Hope my wagon is ready in time. I love going to The Henry Ford in Dearborn. It is one of my favorite places on this earth! David
I would like to make it to Carlisle this year. I wanted to go last year but car repairs did not work with me. They have all sorts of cars and from what i've seen, it looks like a good time weather permitting. http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/ce/index.asp Spring Carlise Collector Car Swap Meet & Corral - April 21-25 All Ford Nationals - Jun 4-6 All GM Nationals - Jun 25-27 All Chrysler Nationals - Jul 9-11 Fall Carlisle Collector Car Swap Meet & Corral Sep 29-Oct 3 There's also this Pumpkin Run in NJ that looks interesting. i found this one on other forums (a van site, monte carlo site, chevelle site, etc.) and they meet up and go out in there in groups. It would be fun for those who are close enough or don't mind the trip. http://www.flemingshows.com/PUMPKINRUN.html
So...wix...are you GOING to Dearborn? Let me know here. And ...bring your wagon even if it ISN'T finished! That will be the biggest hit there!!
