:Welcome:to the wagon train, faith. Well....just about ALL of the 80's wagons were available with that option. GM, Ford had them as options and most wagons did have that option. Do you have a particular preference in a wagon?

Well....others here, and there are many, will be better equipped to answer your questions about the foreign wagons. I'm pretty much an old American wagon guy.

Why don't you drop down the page to this section.... Station Wagon Auctions, Craigs List and Other Station Wagon Classifieds ...and look around. See if there is anything you like in there? Or try the gallery. But, before that, it might be a nice polite thing to do to post an introduction in the above intro section. We always like to get to know people and their cars.:D

3rd row is there, but it raises more questions than answers...

Was the Colt Vista a wagon?
    Was the Colt Vista foreign?
    Was the Colt Vista crap?

Looks like the two 3rd row passengers must have been installed at the factory before the body went on.

For maximum comfort and utility, I'm forced to once again recommend the Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser. The only full-size 80s wagon unscientifically proven to accommodate 7 fat people in utter comfort.

I had an 80s Celebrity Wagon back in the day. There's a small third row seat. Wouldn't describe it as big and clunky, but then I own two of the largest wagons known to mankind.

Wife and I owned a '86 Colt Vista for a while back when the kids were kidlettes. It was actually quite a useful vehicle. Each kid (2) had their own whole row of seats on a long trip. Didn't own it long enough to determine it's reliability though....

Now Faith, you want to know which wagons were available with 3 seats.....keep in mind that the third seat (when available) was usually optional, so be sure to actually check any wagon you're looking at....

(Not listing anything older than '80 or so...)
    Buick:
    '85 - 95 Century, '78-90 Estate (Lesabre or Electra), '91 - '96 Roadmaster
    Chevrolet:
    '85 - '95 Celebrity, '78-'90 Impala / Caprice, '91-'96 Caprice
    Oldsmobile:
'85-'95 Cutlass Ciera, '78-'90 Custom Cruiser, '91-'92 Custom Cruiser
    Pontiac:
    '85-'95 6000 Safari, '78-'90 Catalina/Bonneville/Parisienne Safari
    Ford:
    '79-91 LTD/Crown Victoria/Country Squire*
    Mercury:
    '79-'91 Grand Marquis/Colony Park*
(*Dual-facing rear seats - actually fit 4 small kids)

Chrysler Corp - no 3-seat wagons in the 80's on that I know of......they had some big wagons in the 70's though - Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Monaco, Plymouth Fury, etc........

    Toyota:
'92-'96 Toyota Camry wagon (rear-facing seat seats 2)
    Audi:
    '90's Audi A6, on up to 2005 model - small rear-facing seat

Are you specifically staying away from minivans?

    Good luck with your search...

    >>>>>>>I'll go with #3....CRAP!

All of the real full sizes can accomodate Fat, I know,,,,I'm Fat!:D

Foren and with the third seat.....the only one I have ever heard of is the Clown wagon I got and there definetly is'nt many of them around anymore. Anybody know what if any other foren wagons came with a third seat?

EDIT> Thanx Krash, you answered my question as I was posting

LOL! Thanks guys! : D I will look into those. I did see an Olds Cruiser on CL today, but yikes! That thing looks huge! I really wont have all the kids in it most of the time I drive it, except over this summer. They are in school most of the time and I just have 2 at home with me. and yes im staying away from mini vans. i had a sienna and i really liked it, but couldnt afford it. there arent many mini vans i think are very nice, and i like the look of a wagon better.

Those were so cool. I wish we'd had a big Ford/Merc wagon when I was a kidlet. Wasn't there an even older Ford with seats like that that also had an optional game/activity table for the rear?

The rear-facing seats in the old Volvo wagons look like they must be specifically for kids... just looking at the photos I can't imagine any adults sitting in those. But for kids, sure! And from Volvo's reputation, I imagine they're probably some of the safer rear-facing 3rd row seats from the decade. I like Volvos. They look classy yet tough... big enough for anything you wanna do but not too big.
