My oldest son and I took a drive in the Fury last Sunday. We were on our way to take his Great Grandfather's 52 Kieser Henry J for a jaunt to the ice cream store. As we merged onto the freeway I noticed a unique vehicle ahead of us. I know about the lore of the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile, but have never seen the real thing in person. Well, we got to see it in the flesh. Purty dern cool.

My son is 5 years old, and he had never seen nor heard of the Wienermobile, so he thought it was awesome. He waved like crazy as we passed them. They waved back and tooted the horn. Was quite a great experience.

Seen them a few times over the years, in southern California, and even here in Springfield back in 2010 - probably that same one you saw. Oscar Mayer actually has a small fleet of them covering the U.S.

Well, it was a first for me. It was hard to say who was more excited in the moment, my boy or me.

Thanks for the :camera:Jerry! This one looks to be a fairly late model, I wonder how many generations of them have been produced since the original? Now where's the dern Kaiser :camera:??

ultra_hobby.jpg I was sure you were going to post one of these. There are a few owners in your area who have been to recent rallys.

    :rofl2:Oh I wish I was an Oscar Mayer Weiner.......:rofl2:

I usually get to see them once a year during Mardi Gras if we venture out to a parade or two.

I snapped a pic after we pulled out of the driveway and was going to take one at the ice cream shop, but forgot.

Here's the view from behind the wheel of the Henry J.
