so at the Tin Can Tourist Rally in Lynden Wa. on Sept 10th we had a wagon-off. The longest wagon was the 68 dodge Polara. The widest wagon was the 60 Pontiac Bonneville. My 54 Ford was the shortest and the narrowest. :(. It was, however, the tallest and the oldest and the most cubic inches. Of course that was only because Saf57 wimped out and took his truck to the rally

Great wagons, all of them but where's the trailers? I alway thought the Tin Can Tourist Rally was all about the cars and trailers.

-----------Good question... Where are the Tin Can RV's? Those wimpy wagons not powerful enough to pull a trailer? :slap:

the trailers were on the other side of the fair grounds -nobody wanted to undo all the work to setup the trailers just to take a picture of the wagons. Every one of those wagons did tow a trailer to the rally.

These wagons are all far nicer than mine so it is a good thing it was at home, tucked away, waiting for me to figure out what was wrong with it. I'd of been embarrassed by all that shiny clean chrome and beauty paint on the wagons that made it versus my old beater.

One that was inadvertantly not included was a 1972 Saab, pulling a vintage trailer boat, the small version, which is basically a teardrop with a boat as the roof. A really cute combo :bowdown:and the wagon was in tremendous shape. But so small that I think when the folks were trolling for the wagons for the photos they went right past it.

I'd of had to wash it, clean the mud off from last October, run a vacuum over the carpet to try to get at least some of the grass off the carpet from Deming, fix the problem which at that point I thought was a burnt valve (was a rocker stud), wipe the crud off the windows, check the air in the tires, wipe the pop off the console and steering wheel that I spilled while pulling up to the border and hitting one of those mega speed bumps they have in place, and lots of other wah snivel wah's, and it just doesn't look too pretty compared to all those other great wagons. Mine's just an old Pontiac that tows an old trailer.

All the rest are almost show cars , they get washed every year, vacuumed sometimes, windows are usually somewhat clean, some more wah snivel wah's.......

Wah, wah, wah. Dirt from last October? OMG! That "old" Pontiac and trailer looks pretty slick to me. At least it's not a trailer queen.

Thanks - it does get a fair amount of use regardless of the weather, is insured year round, and it tows the trailer a lot of miles. It would have been there but for concern over what I thought was a crispy valve.

    Yeah, ;)
