I'm preparing to paint and can't get the tape (fine-line) to stay on; And have been told that masking-tape may damage the woodgrain film. Any suggestions for safe cleaners for this application? Other thoughts that may be causing the problem? Thanks!

If you can't get the fine-line to stick, the moldings probably have some wax on them. Try using plain old blue painters tape, maybe 2 layers, and use a putty knife to pressit into the small gaps.

Scrub the whole car down with Purple Power before you paint it. That will take off any oil, grease, wax, etc.
