Opels are cool lil cars, and I know it will get better then 27mpg, probably needs a tuneup or the carb is too big for it.

Nice, but now way over-priced. As a vehicle like that, you would probably be better off getting something Japanese though. Might be hard to find Opel parts these days.

I kinda like the old Toyota Camry wagons - 1987 - 91 and '92-96, An old Datsun 510 from '68 - '71 would be a kick, too (but pretty basic).

You may be right, KK. But...I like things that are different...this wagon is weird looking and I like it. The only thing I see that could be a problem is that automatic transmission. Toyota is a word I don't like.

In the mid 70's, Opel also imported a 3-door "Sportwagon" for their Manta line ( a bit bigger than the one you posted above ) Here's the ONLY picture i could find of one..........

That is a real retro car! I really LIKE it! I don't know a THING about these, A1...could that be an old boxer engine??

The 'Saab' V-4 was actually a Ford engine. Saab wanted something a bit more powerful than the 3-cylinder they had, but didn't have anything themselves. Ford had the V-4 from a Consul or Taunus or something like that in GB or Germany.

Dunno. With GM owning Saab, and now trying to dump it, your chances are not good. Although I will say, it looks like the current owner has had some success in keeping it up. I'm sure he's got some contacts for parts. The car's kinda quirky, though. Doesn't seem to me to be quite your thing........

It's not really my PRIMARY thing but I WOULD love to have it for a DD. I did notice that in his parts receipts one of the bills was from a Ford place. Bet I'd get a lot of looks in THAT rig! :yup:
