    Bumpers

Yes guys, the bumpers are inside the car, as they are pretty nice. It actually helped with the loading/unloading process as then it wasn't dragging its ass everywhere. As for the underseat heater, Cat is correct...Northern NM is forested and can get quite cold in the winter, very different than here in Albuquerque.

That was patrick's quote. When I was in New Mexico last I could barely see out the side windows of a 1934 Chevy!
Even now I never realized some station wagons had an under seat heater. I had rear heaters in vans. I do remember 50's -60's Buick dash heaters worked well in Illinois.

My 57 american pontiac safari had the under seat heater and just the windshield defrost on the firewall. It worked okay to a point but was not up to Canadian cold weather.

Excellent progress. It looks better already with the tires inflated and up on the flat bed. It's going to be a show piece, I know it.

It was scheduled for pickup on July 19 or 20, but the hauler is delayed in California so it will be later than I expected.

Today (Saturday), we got most of the dirt out of it and wrapped everything up for the trip to Michigan.
When I got back to the hotel at 3:00, it was 101F here. I'm developing a new appreciation for water...and iced coffee!

I love ice water but can't remember ever having iced coffee. My wife mentions it almost everyday when her hot coffee gets cold. :coffee::drink:

I arrived in Phoenix one time on one of their 115F days, the rent a car bus dropped me off in their parking lot to walk down the aisle to my assigned car. I got to the spot only to find it empty. Turned around in time to watch the bus driving off in the distance. Yep.....fun in the desert, lol! :slap:

It's amazing just how different the climate is between the north and south parts of AZ and I guess NM also.

Get used to their excuses. Haulers are pretty infamous for that kind of crap.

    Thanks for the recommendation, Steveedee.
Yes, I am registered on V8buick. I'm hoping to find help there, once I get into this in earnest.

No prob. You'll get all kinds of good help there. Some of the guys there have built these to look like new. I stand in awe of their patience. I have a '68 California GS that I've been working on forever (well, only 14 years, really). I've always liked that style wagon. One of my childhood friend's parents had the Oldsmobile version, a "Holiday"; or something.

Yep; the Olds version was the Fiesta.
I think they are among the coolest wagons ever.
