What is this supposed to be what Sergeant Schulz is driving?

 

Schultz was Luftwaffe. This must be a cousin of his, who may have gone to the Eastern Front, making Sgt. Schultz very afraid of going there.

 

And the vehicle he's driving is a Vickers gun tractor, captured from the Belgian Army.

 

The Belgian army was imitating British bobbies, by not carrying guns. What was Sergeant Schulz trying to prove, by driving around in an unarmed tank?

 

Gott im Himmel! However, I don't think this was Schultz's fault....

 

It looks deliberate, though

 

I guarantee you, if a U.S. Army tread clanker was 'deliberate,' that Bundeswehr scout car would be a potato pancake.

 

Maybe, partial humuliation was enough for Private Pyle. Wait a minute. He can't drive a tank. It must have been Private Parts who did the deed
