Can anyone document with a factory link whether or not a space saver or "doughnut" spare is ok to use on my '95 Roadmaster wagon with its posi rearend?

I've found online spec's saying both Roadmaster sedans and wagons were equipped with space saver spares, but the posi issue wasn't addressed.

    Thanks

no links...just 30 years of messing in the wheel n tire world..;)

the spares usually say on them...'do not exceed--mph'....the rims are light duty and will not take any sh-t and abuse...:D

When you have posi-trac the owners manual stated not to use on the rear axle which would require two tire changes. Put the donut on the front and move the front tire to the rear.

Due to the diameter difference the clutches in the posi would wear very fast. A rebuilt on the posi rear or any differential for that matter is pretty expensive.

I don't have a reference but it's true. Either buy a full size spare or don't ever use it on the rear.
