One of the two, lives in Arizona, and posted some shots he took from a nearby junkyard with great shots of the rustfree cars in there. Some look like new in the door jambs near the hinges on those big 1963 chryslers. I bawled for a week. I'll see if I can find a link to the posts. There were 2 posts at different times. The pics say it all. I thought you might have seen them, but it might have been before you came aboard.

Anyway, if I was looking at dropping $14,000 into somebody's car, and could find a decent starting point, I'd guesstimate a good quality ground up resto would come in around $18,000 ALL IN. We're not talking a 1939 Cord or Excalibur. Just a nice Lafayette or Lebaron Wagon. :biglaugh:

WOW....I remember in eastern CA they had yards like that. I just got a piece of exterior chrome trim from a guy out there for my Mark VII. Honest...it looks just like a new part...even the underside that faced the car. Junk yards around here are just rust yards. Thanks for those threads Normy!

PM LargeBarge for more info. The second link had some great detail shots, until they were moved.

Not ot sound overly picky, but Ford had the "Police Interceptor" package, and is a Ford trademark. Mopar had a "police package" or "pursuit package", depending on the year in question.

Sorry, not really up on the whole terms of the police rides back then. My dad always called it that, and my Ford was one, so that's just what we've always called it. I learned something today!
