And worth it! I've heard that ACC carpet can make the mats for anything they sell carpets for since they use the same mold, but I've never tried. You might just contact the carpet company directly. AND keep us posted. It's down the road for me but I'd like a mat for my wagons.
My dad's '63 Country Sedan didn't have carpet; it had some kind of vinyl/rubber floor covering. Guess the carpet must have been an upgrade that he didn't want to spend the bucks on.
I learned to drive on a Dodge Dart with rubber mat instead of carpet. That was standard on the very low-line cars. The biggest problem with it is condensation. Air doesn't move under it, and it doesn't wick, so water eventually eats the floor under it. Plus it is noisier. give me a good carpet any day of the week.
X2 what MikeT said. Floors rust much faster with a rubber mat than with a breathing carpet. And they don't block and muffle sound like a carpet does.
X3 But if I'm not mistaken, I think he's looking for rubber mats to go over the carpet..IMO thats better for winter because you keep the carpet under it dry...........
I'm sorry but up here winter means snow in the car, which melts and freezes and collects under the carpet. It's common to haave rust out from the inside right under the driver's heel. I'll take my 9C1 rubber flooring any day over carpet.
