    Hi Folks!

Before i take my wagon to or mechanic, I'd like your opinion (my two other vehicles are air cooled and don't know much about water cooled problems and issues!!).

After seeing a thread related to the TV cable that could be reset I went under the hood to proceed. I spotted some prestone on the manifold next to the carb.
I dried it all out and drove the car a couple of miles = more prestone!! :-(

So, is it major doctor? Note that the rad is brand new and all the hoses are 3 or 4 years old ( and about 20k miles)
Thank you for your help and shared experience(s).

You have a carb? If so possibly the base is water cooled or the thermostat housing is leaking?

I would dry it up again then let the car run in your driveway and check to see where it is leaking from. It may take a few minutes before the thermostat opens and the water flows to the engine. As a blind guess I would make sure all the hose clamps are tight.

Thank you for those advice. Result: intake gasket leak quickly fixed with some sort of fluid. It's only temporary as I want this engine as reliable as possible. My mechanic is supposed to call me with an estimated price for the job. Looks like it's a 4 to 5 hours job! Woops.....
