Look what I saw driving around today. I never have seen one of these before. I am in LOVE!!!!!!!!! Anybody ever seen one of these restored? If so, any pictures?
Looks to be a '54 Belvedere. They can be pretty nice cars. http://www.carpictures.com/Plymouth/-Belvedere-Suburban-Station-Wagon-burgundy-1954-03LSG210644468
Is one's life ever complete? Ya know, it's been years since I found your place....... it's been years since my neck worked proper.
There is a fellow here in town who owns a used car lot called "American Motors" (he only sells American name plates) and is a big MOPAR guy. growing up he lived across the street from me and he always had hot Chrysler products coming in and out of his place. After years of trying to get my to sell my 64 Plymouth wagon he realized I wouldn't let it go. He bought one of these little guys. It's semi restored. In the summer months he motors around town in it with a surf board on top. In the winter he replaces the surf board with a 50s vintage wood tobagan.
It's a 54 Plymouth Plaza. It was the base model. The Plymouth line up was the Plaza, Savoy, Belvedere, then the Fury. I'm actually not sure if the Fury existed in 1954 yet though. The Plaza was like the fleet car, however anyone could buy one. It ran through 1959 I beleive. In 1960 the Savoy was the base model and the fleet cars were stripped down Savoys (all the Plaza ever was.)
I think it would be cool to update one of these with drivetrain out of a say '64 Dart - with a slant 6 and pushbutton auto trans.
