Does anyone have a station wagon related plate? I'd like to hear them or if there are any ideas out there. I get a kick out of them. I can have up to 8 characters.

Used to get them in cereal boxes - wooden nickels. I think that's why all the cowboy flicks have the poker players biting the gold coins. :rofl2: Except "Paint Your Wagon", they just sniff it out. :rofl2:

Maybe it was that Elephant Popcorn for a nickel? They still make it (with the pink sugar coating.

    Vanity plates

Back in Illinois, where ever that is, many people had vanity plates, as they were called. I had USA 1955 on one 55 Chevy. SHARP 57 on our 57 Chevy. MODELT 1 on the Escort. R TOY 55 on the 55 Chevy wagon. And some more. I was car poor back then. Now just poor. The 1955 Chevy wagon now, in Florida, has a 1955 Florida tag on rear and the same Illinois R TOY 55 on front. Vanity plates here cost an arm and a leg so not as many have them. If you look closely at some of my wagon photos these show. Just tossed this in to help confuse you!

Most States you can list several choices from first on down. And we used to have the choice to take it or leave it also! I couldn't get SHARP55 in Illinois because someone had it on a modern car. But you can play around with different variations till you get close. Also in many states if you add a number, as in MODELT 1, it was cheaper than just letters. I'm cheap so that's the way I went! Some of those plate made people wonder how I drove legally. They appeared like just non legal vanity types. Like Joe'sWAGN or similar.

I'm a cheap SOB and don't want to pay an extra $35 a year for a custom plate. :2cents:

Me too. That's why here in La Florida I only have the wagon with an official 1955 Florida tag registered. Paid like $75 bucks at a swap meet, paid maybe $30-$35 to get it legal. Pay extra every year to renew it. That ain't fair. I bought the darned thing and still pay extra to use it! My other cars have VANITY plates which are cheaper than regular tags. However I can only drive to shows, repair shops, exhibitions. That's okay because I no longer work for a living to keep paying all these extra expenses. There is a car show 1100 miles away in Illinois. I guess it is legal to drive to it. I can't legally drive them to get mail or milk. But I usually stop off on the way home to see my mechanic buddy to get whatever car I am driving inspected to keep it legal. D'uo! Hope I don't live long enough to see Canada and California laws kick in!:banghead3:
