Paul and I just came back from another soul-cleansing vacation to Palm Springs with the 77 Squire, but the trip back almost proved to be a disaster! The alternator light came on about halfway home and Paul kept praying that we would make it without stalling on the freeway. It seems like every mechanical original '77 part on the Squire is a disaster waiting. Luckily, we got home safely, and Paul immediately paid a visit to Pep Boys to get the part. However, he found out in short order that there is another part he needs that requires install with a tool he doesn't own. So, off to the mechanic it goes this morning. We hope it is ready by the end of today. I don't want him to work on it Sunday, which is his 6oth birthday. He should be relaxing. EDIT: Wagon brought in and mechanic called an hour later with job done, excellent!
