Forgive if this has been discussed already, I poked around a little and didn't see anything...Interesting sale on eBay... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Bel-Air-150-210-Bel-Air-/391099349927?forcerrptr=true&hash=item5b0f567ba7&item=391099349927
This was posted last week here. I can't see the 55 Chevy wagon being worth anymore than any other old wagon in that condition. Most of the posts were discussions on what actually happened. Elvis once drove my 55 Chevy to order a pizza and a dozen donuts but I forgot to get it documented.
OK, I figured it probably was posted, just didn't go back far enough...We had a 57 the same color and made the trek from So Cal to Michigan on Route 66 when I was a kid. Our cat got out when we visited the Grand Canyon and we never did find her...
Some people are into collecting the od, weird, and as this car with a bad past surrounding it. Would I want Al Capone's car, sure I would! Would I want this wagon knowing who and what.......... Heck no! Just WHO is going to be the guy at a car show to boast...."Guess what this car was involved in and guess who drove it on that day???" Sure as heck would not be me!
Let's drive out to the Grand Canyon and find 688guy's cat. It's a "her" so there are probaby a lot of them wandering around that big hole. I agree I wouldn't want the Oswald wagon.
Yeah, I'll bet there's a bunch of cats out there by now! I think that was 1967...I wouldn't care to own the car either. I remember staring at the intercom in my classroom when the principal announced that we were getting out of school early that day and I was excited to get out, but it hit me on the walk home just what happened...
It's amazing how so many people can remember exactly where they were and what they were doing when the news came on the radio and TV. I had a cookie route delivering to stores, restaurants, bars, and hotels. I'd just walked into a small hotel with restaurant in central Illinois when I first heard the reports. It took awhile to sink in. No way I'd want that car and those memories. About the cat, Tedy is packing his butterfly net and I'm taking a large tent and a case of Chicken-of-the Sea to bait traps. Your cat should still have a few lives left.
