35+ years just sitting. Too many other projects and not enough time. Now it's nearly too late. But rather than sell it, I'm taking it home.
Still Dreamin. Hardly anyone down here knew I had this and most back in Illinois forgot long ago. But wait till I drive it down Memory Lane! Here are a few more plus the headliner. 40+ years didn't do the paint much good. Seats are late 60's-70's Dodge power seats. There's even a rear bench seat looking a little like an early Camaro. The crappy shag carpet has to go. Maybe Briz rippled polished aluminum bumpers, Smithey mufflers, wide white radials, and drop it 4". I'm dreamin again! I feel like the day I got it in 1972!
Looks a H*LL of a lot better X10 than the torn apart 67 Cougar I have in the garage, that's been off the road since 1987
The Desease! I've still got a few like that. My 1948 Chevy panel truck was supposed to be ready to tow a vintage RV ten years ago. It ain't gonna happen. Then there's that 1946 Mercury coupe I just had to have sitting on a 2X4 dolly. And the 1969 UltraVan RV the boy is sleeping in.
This is an amazing story. While I was reading I kept waiting for the punch line but there really is an Ole Red. Excellent! So glad your getting it out of the shed and into the light. It looks really great considering how long it has waiting. I hope you finish the car to it former glory and you get to drive it again. Best of luck with the resto.
Happy as a baby in a topless bar! You think ole Red looks good after 76 years you should see me in all my glory! Or not! The 21 year old white spoked trailer wheels and 21 year old tires got replaced. Now all I gotta do is replace the 45 year old car bias tires. Altho they still look new. Son thinks he's a trucker so added running lights down both sides and across the back. I don't know where he gets these ideas! Daughter just called to wish me Happy Mothers Day. I told her we got the old Ford out to work on it. She was only two when I got it but still remembers telling me it was for sale for $25.00!
