Hello all- the tailgate window switch in the dash in my 66 Country Sedan fell apart on me. It is looking like hens teeth to find. I have tried Mac's and Obsolete Ford and various on line searches with no luck. So----any advise on either a replacement or tips on wiring up a different switch?

I cant believe its this hard to find!

    Thanks All---

    Marty

Hey I was really off there, sorry.

I may have another one in my spare parts. Let me look around and see. Are you looking for new or used?

If you can't find an original, what will work and be much easier to find is either the power antenna switch or tailgate window switch from an 80s Crown Vic, Grand Marquis or Lincoln Town Car. I think it was about 84 that the power antennas went to a manual switch instead extending and retracting automatically. Basically, any 3 position switch that defaults to off in the middle should work until you find the right one.

Power antennas are no longer automatic ? :49: Must be a safety thing. Even the one on my 55 Chevy is automatic when the radio comes on. Of course that is not factory.
My late model truck antenna just sticks there and does nothing except receives signals.
Yes, any three position switch should work.

i think i found one at Obsolete Ford. I have to look at the wiring diagram to see if i can use a momentary style switch i grabbed from Radio Shack. I was fooling around with it the other day but really couldnt make it work. Once i have it figured out i will post a report for the next poor bastard.

    thanks all for the replies!
