Well, I've been talking regularly with the seller of the '94 Roady in NYC. Then I bought the airline ticket and had my girl email the itinerary along with some more questions to him on March 30th. Emailed him a few times since then too. I have had no answer from him since I bought my ticket. I think he doesn't want to have anything in writing...claims he has to type with 2 fingers. I say...if you advertise all over the internet like he does...then ANSWER on it! I have been traveling a lot and can't call him easily. I'm getting pi$$ed off here....

I feel your pain. I bought my second fairmont on ebay and it took forever for the seller to do anything. And when he did he screwed it up. Didn't send me the title. And this was for an importation to Canada. And after describing the car as "clean as a pin" it was full of mouse****. With StorminNormans help I was able to take everything apart and put it back together clean. There's a thread here somewhere with the story. We drove about 1200 miles round trip to get it.

This guy owns a used car lot in Brooklyn. No excuse for suddenly stopping communication. It's imperative that he answer me before Monday morning when I was supposed to get insurance on the rig and send him the info so he could get a paper plate so if I buy it I could drive it home. If I don't hear from him by then I guess I won't get the insurance and I'll have to eat this round trip ticket. Then I will have to consider what I will do about this guy and his business....

Well that doesnt sound too promising Silver. New Yorkers are a strage bunch, stranger then even us non-New Yorker, New Yorkers. Keep me posted on your plans though, if you plan to still go and drive it back. The wife and I are heading to Manhattan at 12am the 12th and stopping to see her friend in Millville, NJ to spend the day there and head out early the 13th to take her to the Philippine Consulate to get her passport renued. Damn our rotten governor Patterson, changing it 1/1/09 so immagrants have to make a physical apperance to renue.

Isn't there a closer place?! Seems rediculous that people from all over the state would have to travel to NYC! That sucks!
Yeah...the guy waits until AFTER I buy tickets to no longer respond. Thought he was a decent guy, too. Now I may have to travel there for other reasons.

Nope, NYC is our ONLY option. There is Pittsburgh and Cleveland, but since she is a NY resident, we have to drive 450+ miles to go to that slum. Pittsburgh is 3 hours and Cleveland 2.5 hours, NYC 8 hours. Oh well, get to take the Longboard out and stretch her legs. There isnt anyone in NY that has to travel as far as I do to get to NYC. Im the complete hoopsite side of the state, less then 1/2 mile from the Western boarder. They do come to Albany, still a 6-7 hour drive, but thats not till June and her passport need renued ASAP, it already expired.

    That really sucks, Blackfoot!!

Yeah, Normy...unfortunately, it will cost me about $150 to do it but better than getting there and finding it's gone or, worse yet, a junker. My girl gave him until Monday at 9 AM to respond so she will have time to cancel the ticket and I can tell the insurance guy to forget it. I THINK that's enough time...don't know what the cancellation deadline is. The rules & regs on expedia are in greek.

Precisely my feelings, Clark. I think maybe his nephew that took over the lot had a talk with the old guy about his sales tactics and maybe shut the old guy up. The nephew/new owner has never talked to me...just the older guy that retired. This really sucks. I went to a LOT of trouble to arrange all this.

If this dont work out and Fred ends up havin something you are interested in. Book a flight to Erie, PA airport and I will pick you up and take you out to Freds. He is only like 3 hours from me and would love to give you a ride and BS on the way out. I have never been to Freds or even met the guy, but as honest as everyone says he is and as nice as they all say, I would trust him. Ive seen several of his cars on eBay and he sells some damn good lookin stuff. He is one of those sellers who points out the bad stuff in his listings and gets pics of it, good quality pics too.

Do you think your jumping the gun a little on buying a wagon so quick?

Take your time man, the right one will come along!

I would call Fred if your looking for a certain B-Body wagon.

If your sooooooo down on dealing with dealers, check the "for sale" sections on both forums and be patient.

Maybe post in the "wanted" section what your looking for!

In the meantime dream about these http://www.cardomain.com/ride/684602

Fred may be the nicest guy in the world and one of the most honest. But, really, if he is finding wagons to sell...isn't he looking just like I am? I trust my judgement more than anyone elses and I am probably fnding the same cars Fred is. Am I wrong?

    Yes, you are wrong!

Wholesalers have more contacts than anyone can shake a stick at, he has people looking for him!

You think he spends all day on the internet looking for cheap wagon's, NOT!

That's not how it works in the used car business!

Plus he has contacts at most of the car auctions too, he knows what's coming up, where, when, how!

I bet by now he's sold over 450 of these wagon's so far!

    Just a thought!
