Hey all...just found this forum. I am totally addicted to the 1980's Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser, and have been since I was like 12(I'm 43 now). I have been trying to convince my wife to let me buy one but she isn't hearing any of my pleas. She's only 28 and lived through her parents having a wagon and says she'll never be caught dead in a wagon. Unfortunately I would LOVE to see her drive our daughter around in a station wagon!!!! Well, thanks for listening and I'll be looking around the photos now. If anyone is in the SC area and has a Olds CC let me know!
Welcome to the forum Jcrank! Best way to handle the situation is to just bring a wagon home...asking forgivness is easier.
Well, JCrank, it sounds kinda creepy that you would "LOVE to see (your wife) drive our daughter around in a station wagon!!!!" Wouldn't you like to drive your daughter around in a station wagon? I've wanted a vintage station wagon for years, and finally was able to make the jump a little over a year ago with my '81 Pontiac Bonneville Safari - also a GM 'box wagon' as we call them, similar to the Olds Custom Cruiser that you like. Check our 'Station Wagon Auctions, Craig's List, etc' section where we post wagons for sale that we find out there in internet land - not for sale by the forum members. http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=16 Welcome to the SWF Marshall
Welcome to the forum and good luck. I've heard rumors a man must keep his wife happy. There's also something about men wearing the pants in the family. I'm confused! Not having any experience with situations like this I'll let you figure it out. By the way, a 28 year old girl is still a child. What does she know? :banghead3:
JCrank, my wife of 19 years WON'T drive our wagon, because its not a stick shift! She loves it, but she won't! Trust me, they're priceless when they're stubborn! Perfect opportunity to make it one mother of a street machine/sleeper! Welcome aboard. Hope we can help.
I don't think it's creepy at all that, I find my wife extra attractive when she does certain things...and one of those things is driving a car that I have loved all my life! Yes, I would love to drive one, but I would also want her to drive it to, and if she doesn't want to then half the fun of owning one is gone for me. Thanks for the welcome and the link.
