Hello Everyone. My name is Bill from Brook Park, OH (Cleveland area). I have a 1966 Chev Caprice wagon. Enjoy wagons and learning more about them and sharing information.
Welcome to the forums Bill! Looks like you have a couple of "BigDog" rides in your driveway! Love to hear more and see more pictures of both. We love just about anything with a motor around here, keeping the spotlight on longeoofs of course! Hope you enjoy your stay!.....Longroofs Rule!
I am a engine guy by heart, if it has a engine, I have had or built them in my life. Bikes, boats, trucks, vans, station wagons and most everything else. Custom, classics, muscle and about anything else. At the moment Corvettes have been a passion with the latest being the C8 mid engine Hard Top Convertible. Now I have my 3rd long roof cars. Always liked station wagons, but now they seem to have made a come back. The long roof is a 66 Caprice with a 427 V8 at 508 HP and custom functioning ram air along with many mods.
NICE! Both look like they are bada$$! Do you reside in Ontario? I have family in the St. Catherine area.
Welcome Bill. ‘66 Caprice wagons have a special place in my heart. I remember as a kid going to the dealer with my dad. There was a Sandalwood Caprice wagon on the showroom floor I wanted him to buy so bad, but we wound up with an artesian Turquoise Impala wagon. Loved it too, but really wanted that Caprice. I tell my friends I got over it really quick when the salesman gave me an artesian Turquoise’66 Super Sport promo. Still have the promo.
Sorry BigDog, I don't know what made me think you where a north of the border guy? Anyway still would like to see more pics. of either car!
Welcome to the Station Wagon Forum, 1BigDog Bill! Right away, I noticed we have something in common - your '66 Caprice Custom wagon. No, I don't own one myself, but we had one in the family when I was a teenager - butternut yellow, only a 327 with Powerglide, PS, PB, AM radio, and not even AC - a pretty basic wagon, except for the 'wood'. Also, only a 2-seater, even though we had enough kids in the family to utilize a third row. Me and my stepbrother were quite often assigned to the way-back as 'cargo'........weren't worthy of seat belts...or even a seat. (Do I sound bitter......? LOL ) LOVE your wagon! Anyways, here's the ONLY pic I have showing our family's wagon. The kid in the foreground is just someone my stepmom watched occasionally for his mom.....
