Wife and I have been getting by with just 'sharing' our 2018 Ford Edge for a while now, ever since I sold the 2006 Dodge Dakota I had for a year or so. We've recently caught ourselves in scheduling jams on occasion with both of us needing to be at different places at the same time (usually doc appointments - hey, we're getting old). I've been wanting my own vehicle for a while now, and we decided it's a good time. I was after a particular vehicle, and (GASP!) it's NOT a station wagon. I give all the details in a week or two when it finally gets here, but if anyone wants to hazard a guess, or play '16 questions', go ahead....... Another bit of information - it is NOT a new vehicle.
How did you know? And I'm driving it all the way home from Maine! Looks like I'll be able to strap some 8-foot 2x4's upright to the golf bag supports. (That's a hint.....)
I was considering one of these, but when I started seeing a slew of them for sale at bargain prices, I backed off. Most of those ads were for vehicles with engine or transmission issues.
I made a similar post on FB about it. Here's what my clues have indicated over there. Should give you some good direction..... Let's rehash my clues......... What it's NOT: - Pickup - Wagon. - S.U.V. - Chevrolet - GMC - Kia Rondo - 'Foreign vehicle' - '62 Imperial convertible (I wish....) - 'Electric' - Ford Transit Connect - Ford Club Wagon or Econoline van What it IS: - 'Domestic vehicle' - More practical than 'fun' - Bigger than a Corolla - 'Close to a Ford Windstar, but not as old' - A vehicle BRAND that everyone has heard of, but there's a good chance you've never heard or seen this particular model. - Built in the 2000 'oughts' (2000 - 2010) - Using this to haul people, and other stuff, but not necessarily at the same time. - Engine is a fairly large naturally-asperated V6. No turbo.
Here it is.......2005, 95,089 miles I drove one of these back in 2010 after my Focus wgon was totaled. I was very impressed by it - the interior appointments, and how solid it seemed on the road. 4.2 liter V6. So now, I need a vehicle that I can use as my 'truck', without being a truck. The center seat can come out if necessary, and the third seat disappears into the floor. Plenty of room for lumber and tools, or people.
