Brief bio, As a small child I cried when my parents got rid of our 63 Chevy II wagon. Short time later they got a 65 Vista Cruiser, life was good again. That car went away, my parents hated it. Mom ended up with her mothers 63 Fury wagon. Ugly and beautiful in its own way. Stopped running and being in junior high I tried but could not figure out why. Neither could my sisters mechanic boyfriend. Probably a ballast resistor? Many years later I ended up with a parts car for my 66 Chevelle SS396 converible, that was worthy of more but it was torn down. One owner 66 Malibu wagon 275HP 327 4 speed 3.08 posi. Looking back I should have kept the wagon. Also had a very beat up 64 Chevelle 300D 2 door wagon. Had a 89 Mercury Gran Marquis 9 pass. wagon came and went. Which leads us to now. The wagon project we (actually my wifes car) now is a 66 Volvo estate. Close to being a daily driver. Thats the plan for now. Hope I didn't bore anyone. I do have a soft spot for wagons.
Nice Swede there! I had a 63 122s 2dr years ago. Another one I never should have let go of. Hindsight... mike
Nice looking Volvo! I have a soft spot for the euro's. Welcome to the forum! Painted one of those Carribean Red once...looked awful.
Welcome to the madness Nonhog! That Volvo reminds me of one neighbor's had when I was small. Always enjoyed riding in that wagon, there's was white with a reddish interior I believe?
Welcome! Nice wagon and nice garage! How'd you keep it so clean and not let it fill up with non-car stuff?
Wow what a friendly place! Thanks for the reply's! Thats when my shop was new, you can't hardly walk in there now. Yup reddish interior but will change someday as Mamma wants the car slightly lower, flat yellow, and black interior???? Better double check that interior color before I change it. Where the XB and Amazon are parked now homes my 65 Cutlass. 2 other bays one is work space, winter parking for the DD. The other bay houses another Volvo thats also my wifes. Its an 80 Bertone coupe getting a 2000 Ford Explorer 5.0 swap. Yep shop is a working shop. Messy!
to the wagon train, non. Soft spot for wagons?? Who'd a thunk it?? THAT is a cool little Volvo! Glad you found us....please keep us up to date on its progress!
