I have come into a 1979 Pontiac Catalina Safari wagon with the 403 cu. in. engine and 4-bbl carburetor. It has about 180,000 miles. I plan to clean the engine, detail the interior and buff out the paint. It has a minor rear fender dent to be repaired. Rust is beginning around the lower edges of the doors and fenders which is not worth repairing. I would like to know where to go in the forum for advice on the only serious problem -- the HVAC fan does not work. The car has automatic climate control with a vertical temperature dial and a single horizontal lever. The previous owner said he put a jumper wire on the unit, which worked for awhile and then shorted out.
Welcome to the forums, vintage42, we’re glad to have you. When you can, post some pictures of your wagon. We all love pictures. Probably the best section ask is the General Automotive Tech section: http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/forums/general-automotive-tech.8/
Welcome to the forum Vintage42. Good luck with your findings. Lots of Pontiac folks on here. I’m sure they will be a great assist.
